For that far away feeling, only an hour from Sydney, head for the secluded charm of Weemalah Cottage in Royal National Park. Nestled on the banks of the picturesque Hacking River, this waterfront oasis is a great weekend getaway for a small group of friends or family.
Make the most of your holiday and spend your days swimming or fishing on the river. Explore the lush waterfalls on Winifred Falls walking track or spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the scenic riverside views from Warumbul picnic area. You might see goannas, wallabies and even eastern water dragons sunning themselves on the riverbanks.
After spending the day fishing along the river, return to Weemalah to enjoy a drink on the verandah as the sun sets. Settle in for a peaceful evening and be soothed to sleep by the sounds of the forest and the gently flowing river.
Bedding configuration: 3 bedrooms - 2 x queen and 1 with x 2 single beds.
Bed linen and towels are provided, please bring your own beach towels.
The cottage has a fully furnished living room, kitchen facilities and a bathroom with shower and toilet and a separate toilet.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, oven, crockery, cutlery and glassware.
The cottage has a television, Blu-Ray/DVD player, washing machine, iron, ironing board and a gas barbecue.
There is mobile phone service, however no Wi-Fi is available.
Nearby Audley Dance Hall Café has coffee and refreshments, and Audley Boatshed has bike and boat hire.
Check in after 2pm. Check out before 10am.
Keys are available from 2pm and must be picked up prior to 4.30pm from Royal National Park Visitor Centre.
Please contact the Visitor Centre before 4.30pm if arriving afterhours.

The cottage is in a remote location, so it’s a good idea to pick up your supplies before you arrive.

Peak season: NSW School Holidays excluding Winter
Off-peak season: Rest of the year, including Winter school holidays.
2 night minimum stay throughout the year.
All reservations incur a booking fee of 2.5 in addition to the total amount payable.
Park entry fees
Park entry fees for this park are not included in your accommodation fees. Daily fees and annual passes can be bought at Royal National Park Visitor Centre.
Weemalah Cottage is located on the foreshore of the Hacking River and is approximately 41km south of Sydney.
Travel south along the Princes Hwy from Sutherland
Turn left into Farnell Ave, Audley Royal National Park
Proceed along Farnell Ave to Audley Weir
Drive across Audley Weir and continue along Sir Bertram Stevens Drive approximately 2km to Warumbul Road
Turn left and continue on Warumbul Road to the junction of Rathane Road
Go straight ahead onto an unsealed road and continue along Warumbul Road for approximately 3km
Turn right into an informal carpark with a large tree in the centre
At the southern end of this carpark you will find a locked gate
The cottage is a approximately 300m from the gate
A security gate is required to access Warumbul Road afterhours. The security codes will be provided when collecting keys.
Parking is available at the cottage.
