The walk to the beach is a lovely downhill stroll however back up to the house is a bit of a thigh buster - you can drive there is about a minute.  Although the kitchen is well equipped for cooking just a note that it has a mini stove with two hotplates, there is an oven and microwave but if you are cooking up something gourmet and complicated you may need to plan ahead.  The house is opposite the train station however the tracks are elevated and the house set well back but if you are used silence then be aware you can hear the distant sound of trains.  There is a bush fence at the end of the back garden which leads over cliff so this property is not recommend for those with young children.  Parking is on the street there are few bays opposite the house and one spot on the grass in front of the house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely house but a bit tired We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Cliff Escape (Coalcliff). The view is spectacular and the house very well designed. However, while totally clean and well presented, the house is showing its age and will soon require an update.

Gorgeous location, ate every night on the balcony overlooking the beach - felt like we were in Positano, Italy! Tanya and the team @ Emerald excellent to deal with, so responsive. We loved it and will be back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely awesome This property is awesome, breathtaking, spectacular. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and we very much appreciate the owners sharing their home. Our daughter was getting married and what a wonderful ocean backdrop for pre-wedding photos. It was an absolute delight to stay in this architecturally designed home with views to die for. The furnishings and the unique pieces of interest were perfect. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time here, the ocean providing peace and tranquillity while the house provided a feeling of grandeur for our special weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Majestic! Wow, what ambiance and privacy, absolutely majestic! Felt like I was in my own private ocean liner surrounded by water. Was here on a weekend with friends, read, went bushwalking, swam at the local swimming hole, had cheese and wine on the deck at sunset and dined at Austinmer. Have stayed at many beautiful places, but this has to be one of my favourites!
