Welcome to Seafrolic holiday house, situated between Thirroul and Austinmer and just metres from the ocean. Everything you need for your holiday is within walking distance so park the car and start relaxing.
In just a 1 hour drive south of Sydney, enjoy the beautiful setting of this cottage nestled between the ocean and mountains.
Seafrolic is best described as a recently renovated beach cottage that is comfortable, stylish and very well maintained. It was renovated in late 2014. It is just 1 house away from the beach. Watch the surf and wait for the right conditions before a quick walk onto the sand.
Seafrolic sleeps up to 6 adults plus 2 children. It features timber floorboards, high ceilings and close views of the beach and escarpment. There is a queen size bed and carpet flooring in each of the 2 bedrooms and a day-bed that converts to a queen size bed in the front room. Plus there are 2 single mattresses for extra children that can be placed in any of these rooms. There is a lounge room, dining room, (brand new) bathroom, internal laundry cupboard and fully equipped kitchen.
Step from the kitchen onto the newly built decking that overlooks a large, grassy backyard that is secure for the kids (and dogs). Gardens are well maintained with a side, landscaped courtyard that has an outdoor warm shower, also with views to the beach. Laze in the hammock that is perfectly shaded by the sculpted tree.
The renovations in late 2014 include;
- new bathroom
- new rear decking with table & chairs
- new front entry
- new side courtyard
- new laundrette
- plus brand new appliances including large TV, DVD player, washing machine, BBQ, microwave
Off-street parking for 2 cars.
Pets are considered upon request.
Enjoy the freedom of a casual stroll into Thirroul village. It is only 750m to the shops including cafes and restaurants, Anita's Theatre, 2 hotels, boutique and surf shops, supermarket, bakeries, library and more. The train station is also easily reached, only 1.3km from the house.
Thirroul beach is patrolled typically September through to April. A public 50m lap pool and kids pool is also on the beach next to a newly expanded children's playground with grassed areas and tables for picnics. Austinmer beach is only 600m to the north, an easy walk to discover the rock pools, cafes and picnic tables under the tall Norfolk Pine trees. There are numerous surf breaks in walking distance and dozens more within a short drive. Do a quick surf check from the back decking and when it's on, you are only a 100m dash from the sand.
A cycle-way is at the front door and will take you along a coastal scenic route into Wollongong Harbour with some shops and cafes along the way. There are also mountain bike tracks through the nearby bushy escarpment. By car, you can take a spectacular coast drive exploring the nearby Royal National Park, Stanwell Tops (hang gliding & beaches), famous Seacliff Bridge, Scarborough (try lunch at the hotel on the cliffs by the ocean), North Wollongong beaches and harbour plus the rest of the Illawarra is filled with options.
Rock fishing, beach fishing or launch your boat at Headlands (Austinmer) just up the road. Keep an eye on the ocean for passing whales too.
