'Birralay' meaning northeast wind in the local Gumbaynggirr language, feels a million miles away from modern life. Access is via a dirt road, surrounded by bush, it is just one of 25 houses adjacent to a stunning beach, and tidal lagoon. Solar for power and hot water, gas for the fridge and cooking, and water from a gravity fed rainwater tank. There are no modern trappings like TV, mobile or internet reception here, only serenity. Wildlife is in abundance, with kangaroos on your doorstep, and emus on the road a frequent sighting.
If you love getting back to nature, bush walks, and secluded surf beaches, you will absolutely love Diggers camp. It is the ultimate eco-friendly getaway

Follow the signs towards Wooli.

It is about 5km long, and is in pretty good condition. A 4WD is definitely not needed.
