Arriving at Pelican Rest you will be greeted with a chilled bottle of local wine from one of the multitude of local wineries that offer music & lunch weekends.
Directly opposite Pelican Rest is Dunbogan Boat Shed where you can purchase the world's best coffee accompanied with freshly baked muffins to be enjoyed as you watch the dolphins frolic & play in the crystal clear waters of the Nth Haven River.
There are kayaks & boats to hire at reasonable rates, nothing more relaxing than spending a few hours kayaking up the amazingly beautiful river, lakes or lagoon.
Throw a line in for the fresh catch of the day. There is an abundance of bream & flathead to be caught to be bbq'd on the deck. YUM
Crowdy Bay National Park is 10 minutes' drive south where you can enjoy beautiful wild flower walks, fishing, swimming or just a stroll along the white sands of Dunbogan beach.
Dunbogan also boasts an array of wonderful restaurants, and a local cinema that shows all the latest Art House as well as commercial films.
There is a bicycle track after crossing the Dunbogan bridge that follows the river up to Nth Haven beach. Here you can enjoy the most delicious home made little cakes with freshly brewed coffee.
Dunbogan is still a sleepy little fishing village only 30 minutes Nth or Sth from the buzz of Port Macquarie and Taree shopping precincts.
Pelican Rest boasts an extensive library to be enjoyed as you swing in the hammock catching the river breeze.
