Hat Head is a small fishing village situated on the mid north coast, near Kempsey, about half way between Sydney and Brisbane. It is surrounded by Hat Head National Park and offers many opportunities for swimming, fishing, snorkelling, walking and relaxing. It has a bowling club with a restaurant and 2 stores that provide takeaway food, fuel and general supplies.
The cottage is situated just a one minute walk from both the beach and the local general store. A boat ramp in the creek allows access to some of the best ocean fishing on the NSW coast. The creek also provides a safe swimming area for young children and also for water activities such as canoeing. The surrounding national park provides many opportunities for rock and beach fishing and fun in the sand dunes.
