The Waterfall Cabin is perfect for people who want to experience the magic of the tranquil Lorne Valley in the Camden Haven hinterland. It is situated on a 40 acre rural property 15 minutes west of the Pacific Highway between Port Macquarie and Taree and 25 minutes from Laurieton on the coast.

This stylish cabin is fully self-contained with spacious kitchen, bathroom both using rainwater, and queen-sized bed with the option of additional single mattress. Electricity and hot water are solar-powered; lighting is LED, and building materials have been locally sourced and recycled where possible. From the verandah overlooking the outdoor fireplace, there are eastern views over the property and Lorne valley. To the north is a large tallowwood popular with birds, native bush and the 8m waterfall with swimming hole. Below the house are fruit trees, veg garden, chickens and alpacas. Wallabies frequent the grassed areas. The property is featured in 'The Owner Builder' magazine, Oct-Nov 2015.

Local National parks include

- Kattang Nature Reserve east of Laurieton, an impressive example of regenerated coastal vegetation and an excellent whale-watching site

- Dooragan NP above Laurieton with superb outlooks over the coastal region.

- Crowdy Bay NP south of Laurieton with long stretches of uncrowded beaches.

- Middle Brother NP south west of Laurieton featuring the massive Bird Tree.

- Comboyne Plateau - Boorgana Nature Reserve, a precious stand of remnant rainforest with an easy grade waterfall walk.

- Ellenborough Falls, a spectacular waterfall set in beautiful rainforest near Elands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent property We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tom and Jane's waterfall cabin; set in beautiful gardens with birds and wallabies abounding it was so peaceful and comfortable. There was so much to do exploring the local area which is stunning and we loved meeting the hosts who were so freindly and helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect little getaway! We stayed here for a few days with our 6month old. It was the perfect half way mark on our way home from a trip to Byron bay. It was the perfect little spot to relax and our little one was right at home sitting on the deck with her toys taking in the beautiful views. Would recommend this place to couples looking for a romantic weekend away as well as little families like ours who are just looking for a bit of an escape from the city. Thanks so much Tom and Jane for all your local knowledge on walks and your beautiful hospitality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing haven Wow! What a wonderful place to escape the rat race! My partner and I found the cabin to be well equipped with everything we required for our long weekend away. A highlight was the serenity of the grounds that we were free to explore as we liked. Tom and Jane made us feel very welcome. We would definitely go back!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will definitely be back! My partner and I stayed at Tom and Jane's property for a weekend away back in March. The property was immaculately presented and offered much more than the description. We especially enjoyed swimming in the waterhole, cooking over an open flame at the provided fire scar outside the cabin, and wandering around the property. There was a stunning array of bird life including eastern rosellas and even frogs around at night, every morning we woke up to find wallabies feeding just outside the door. Tom and Jane were incredibly engaging hosts and able to provide directions to local attractions such as Ellenborough Falls and North Brother Mountain but also respected our privacy at all times.
