Latest news: Autumn and winter are great times to holiday in Port. The north-east breezes that kept us cool in summer have abated and there are lots of still, sunny days. Whales can be seen from the reserve at the end of our street when whale season starts in May. Rainbow lorikeets are loving the nectar on our flowering grevillias in our renovated front garden, with a newly laid lawn and more Australian native plants to attract the birds.
Perfectly positioned on Port Macquarie's beautiful 9km coastal path, you are minutes from beaches, cafes and the CBD. Take the coastal path 10 minutes north for your morning coffee and swim at Town Beach or take the path south for 15 minutes to Flynns Beach and a great breakfast at Sandbox. Both cafes serve healthy, delicious food and drinks. Port City Bowling Club and tennis courts are a 10 minute walk. Two golf courses are ten minutes by car. Wifi, Foxtel and Telstra TV will keep you entertained at home.
Having travelled overseas, staying in online rentals, my priorities for a happy stay include a comfortable bed, clean house, proximity to local attractions and access to local knowledge.
Our newly refurbished beach house has 3 bedrooms - two with queen beds and one with double and single bunks. The living and dining areas lead onto a large covered deck with bbq overlooking a huge backyard tropical garden with plenty of room for kids and dogs to run around. Downstairs is a second shower and toilet and plenty of storage for bikes, surfboards, fishing gear and golf clubs. Bring the family pet to enjoy meeting new friends at leash free Nobby's Beach.
Beach House on Windmill has now been a fully self-contained rental for over one year. Our guests have loved the spaciousness of the house, the large private back deck and garden and proximity to the coastal walk at the end of the street, leading to beaches and into the CBD.
Places to explore around town include the skateboard park, surfing beaches, restaurants on Town Green, exercise circuits at beaches along the coastal path, weekly markets, a vibrant cafe culture, picnic areas with bbq, an unique Koala Hospital, convict history, Historical Museum and wineries.
