SMITHS LAKE AREA - SURF, SUN & SOLACE
If you've been to the area before, you'll know that it boasts some of the best surf in Australia.
Beaches are within a 5 - 10 minute drive which include Cellito, Boomerang, Blueys and Elizabeth patrolled, and good for kids. Local lakes are ideal for swimming with young children, with shallow clear water.
Seal Rocks is 20 minutes drive away - head up to the lighthouse for great views,
and whale watching in season. Or surf at Treachery and Lighthouse beach. Forster is approximately 20 minutes drive, which has the usual supermarkets and various retailers.
Smiths Lake village has a butcher, baker, village shop and the Lakes Cafe, which
does a great coffee. The village shop is great for renting DVD's.
There is aslo a short 9-hole golf course nearby, as well as 18 hole courses at Forster. There's a local winery, tennis courts at Pacific Palms and ample bush walks. Kayaks and small boats can also be hired from the Frothy Coffee Cafe 200 metres down the road.
For dinner or drinks head to 'The Reccie' or ‘The Bowlo’ or fire up the barbie in the backyard.
