Serendipity is a beautiful, light-filled, cedar home in the perfect position right opposite the calming waters of Smiths Lake and a lovely sandy beach spit. It is a spacious, relaxing home surrounded by palm trees and birdsong. A concrete boat ramp and Frothy Coffee Cafe with boat hire are just 20 metres away. Relax and enjoy the tree-studded, waterfront location. Watch the children playing in the well-equipped playground or relax on the balcony with views over the water as the sun is setting. Fish, kayak, picnic, explore the edges of the lake or swim within just a few level steps of the house.

PRICING INCLUDES FRESH LINEN AND TOWELS. All beds are made up and beautifully presented on your arrival.

Our home is pet friendly with a safe and securely fenced back yard approx. 1 metre high.

For bookings of up to 5 people you will have full access to the main house which has four bedrooms and two bathrooms. For bookings of 6 or more people you will also have access to an additional bedroom/ensuite which is detached from the main house.

There are many beautiful local beaches stretching from Seal Rocks in the south to Seven Mile Beach in the north as well as some lovely National Parks which are all just a short drive away. The nearest surf beach is only 5 minutes away or you can paddle your kayak across the lake to the sandbar. The Pacific Palms area also has some lovely cafes/restaurants and nearby activities such as golf and tennis. It is a great place for families, friends and couples to relax right there or explore the beauty of the area.

The house has two storeys with balconies and water views from both levels. The main house has four queen size bedrooms and there are two single beds and an ensuite in the detached bedroom. The living and dining areas are at the front of the house downstairs. This is a large tiled open plan space with lots of windows and light-filled areas which provide privacy as well as gorgeous views across to the lake. There is a TV with a built in slot for DVDs in the lounge room as well as a collection of DVDs, books, board games for you and the children to enjoy.

For your comfort there is a reverse cycle air conditioner and ceiling fans in two upstairs bedrooms. There are also spare pedestal fans. For cooler days there are electric blankets on the beds.

The modern kitchen is clean and bright with plenty of space to work if you like to cook up a storm. It is well-equipped with all the appliances you need. There is a full size 370 litre refrigerator and, easily accessible in the laundry, is an 80 litre front opening freezer with three drawers. There is a front loader washing machine, iron and ironing board also located in the laundry along with a spare gas bottle for the BBQ. There is no dryer so please make use of the clothes line outside and the clothes airers provided if you need them. There is seating for 10 at the dining table and also a breakfast bar with seating for 3.An additional fold out table is available if you wish to have more space. Families with toddlers might like to use the children's table and 3 chairs for food as well as play.

There is a front verandah with bench seating and water views as well as an upstairs deck where you can relax and look across to the lake. The BBQ is in the back yard along with a long wooden table with bench seats where family and friends can relax and enjoy a meal together when the weather is fine.

The four bedrooms in the main house all have queen size beds and beautiful linen provided. The two bedrooms downstairs are smaller and would suit those in your group who may have difficulty with the stairs to the upper level. Access to the rear downstairs bedroom is through the bathroom or it has its own external doorway. Upstairs there are two more spacious bedrooms. The front bedroom has a skylight as well as its own private covered balcony with views over the lake and park. There is also a sofa bed and TV/DVD player in this room. The rear bedroom has a small wrap around balcony with filtered views to the lake as well as a large ensuite with double shower.

There is another bedroom outside, detached from the house and just a few steps from the back door. It has two single beds, a fold out divan suitable for one adult and its own ensuite. There is also a TV/DVD player for use with DVDs only as there is no free to air TV in this room. This detached bedroom may be suitable for teenagers or for those in your group who may wish to have more privacy.

Serendipity is an ideal location for families, friends and couples to relax and spend time together. Only three hours drive from Sydney.

You will have full access to the house and privacy during your stay. There is a keyless entry front door which is simple to operate and allows 24 hours access to our guests. This means there are no problems with collecting keys or arriving late at night. Prior to check in we will send you an access code for the front door. We live nearby at Coomba Bay and are available to assist you whenever we are not away travelling or sailing. At other times we have a caretaker available to assist you with any questions or issues that may arise.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Serendipity is right on Smiths Lake with a boat ramp and beach opposite and fabulous lakeside views. There is abundant local wildlife ranging from colourful lorikeets and kookaburras in the trees to flocks of black swans and pelicans on the lake. There is a playground just opposite and a safe sandy beach. There are catamarans and boats for hire just opposite at the Frothy Coffee Boatshed and Cafe. The local shops are just 1km up the road with a well-stocked Supa Mart, bakery, butcher, cellar, hairdresser and take away shop. There is also a local Bowling Club just a few minutes away. A nine hole golf course and Celito Beach are only 5 minutes drive away. Access to Celito Beach is a few minutes easy walk from the car park along a leafy palm-studded boardwalk. Elizabeth Beach has a surf patrol during peak holiday times.There are some stunningly beautiful beaches just a short drive away, from Seal Rocks in the south to Seven Mile Beach in the north. There are also many points of access to the beautiful Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes and to the national parks. Pacific Palms Recreation Club is on the shores of Wallis Lake on The Lakes Way near Elizabeth Beach. Monthly Markets are held on the last Sunday of each month adjacent to the Recreation Club and extra markets are sometimes held at other popular times such as Easter. In the Pacific Palms area there are more restaurants, cafes and shops near to Blueys Beach. If you wish to venture further away, the twin towns of Forster/Tuncurry are less than 30 minutes drive away and have many facilities for tourists.

HOUSE RULES

We do not take bookings for Schoolies Week groups, bucks or hens celebrations.

This location has a relaxed, village feel to it in a beautiful leafy lakeside location. It is ideal for families and friends to relax and share quality time together.

Please, no loud music or parties allowed.

We work hard to present our home beautifully to our guests and ask that you leave it clean and tidy. Please return any furniture you move to its original position and ensure the washing up is done and all items put away.

Please clean the BBQ after each use and turn off the gas bottle.

We are pet friendly and ask that you clean up after your furry friends. Pets are allowed inside on the TILED AREA DOWNSTAIRS. Please keep your pets off furniture, mats and out of bedrooms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful family getaway Excellent property for family getaway. Quiet and clean. So nice to have contact with the owner before and after our holiday, very friendly and helpful. House was set up with absolutely everything we needed especially accommodating children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely cottage by the lake We had a family get together with 3 couples, one single, 2 children and 3 dogs and there was a space to suit everyones needs. Much to our surprise we found a kitchen with every utensil and kitchen appliance you could want plus a separate laundry if required as well as fans and heaters etc etc. There is great outside areas on the front verandah downstairs and a big verdandah off one of the rooms upstairs that the kids decided was a great place to play scrabble that was also provided as one of the board games there to entertain the younguns. The backyard was perfect for the dogs and we had a bbq and sat at a huge table that accomodated all of us. Serendipity is right across from the Lake, we took our tinny and a couple of kayaks, threw a crab pot out and caught a crab. Lovely quite area and a house full of charm, comfy beds, fresh soft linen and towels and very welcoming home owners. Yvonne and I had some communication before and during our stay and she was very friendly and helpful which made us feel at home. Everything was clean and comfortable and the keypad to the front door made it easy for everyone to come and go. Next time we will try and stay longer than a couple of days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable, quiet, beautiful outlook. A rare find, to find, a house and owner who allow dogs inside the house, (within a defined boundary) which allowed my dogs to maintain the living that they are accustomed to. A quiet location at this time of year which allowed me to rest and recoup. The owners are considerate to supply many basic necessities in the bathroom and kitchen. The boundary fences perhaps not ideal for fence jumpers as my border collie jumped off the back deck and over the side gate so I would recommend if you leave the property put the dog/s on a run.
