Absolute Wooli Beach House is a restored original fisherman's cottage which gives the true beach holiday you remember from childhood. Fully equipped with everything you'll need.
On The Terrace in the heart of Wooli, it was once the village Ice House but for decades now it has been the home of idyllic vacation memories of many families. Step out the door to your own seat on the dunes, with a view stretching south to the river mouth and north to Wilsons Point, at any time of the day, from sunrise with your morning cuppa, to sunset with your champers! This is where generations of kids have loved to feed the seagulls and watch for dolphins, whales, and maybe even a pirate ship! After dark it is the perfect spot to spy ocean phosphorescence or to star gaze.
This family beach house is now opened by the owners who want to share this very special spot with you and your family.
The main part of the Absolute Wooli beach house is all on one level, accessed from either a short set of stairs or via one step to the wrap-round verandah and front door. Under the house is another shower, the washing machine and dryer, and a cubby equipped with toddler toys, boogie boards, surfboards and canoes.
Ideal for children and people needing one step access into the house.
When you are in Wooli, you are immersed in nature so inspiring that many artists are drawn to Wooli. The area has released the creative urges in so many people to such an extent that there now an annual Wild About Wooli ArtShow each Easter. Absolute Wooli also provides an artist studio with easels and plenty of painting space (with special arrangement with owner).
Wooli is a very special place, providing the best of ocean, beach, bush, and river experiences. The secluded village is surrounded on three sides by Yuragir National Park, with its 38,000 hectares of unique habitat and abundant wildlife and, to the east, 7 kilometres of magnificent beach and the Solitary Islands Marine Park. The Wooli Wooli River, running through the village, is one of the most pristine waterways in NSW, and one of the few so clean that oysters can be consumed immediately upon harvesting.
You can swim, surf and fish right in front, or take a short walk on the beach, or on the riverside walkway, down to the breakwall.
The beach is excellent for swimming and fishing. The Surfing Beach, with changing room, showers and toilets, near the river mouth is patrolled during school holidays. The breakwall is a very popular fishing spot.
The Wooli Wooli River is navigable for about 20 km by canoe or boat. Kangaroos, emus, black necked storks, pelicans, swans, brolgas, kingfishers, ospreys and parrots can be seen. There are many spots for swimming and it is also ideal for fishing, boating, canoeing, and snorkelling. There are public boat ramps and canoes and boats can be chartered locally for river cruising, deep sea fishing, and diving in the Marine Park surrounding the North Solitary Islands.
There are cycle tracks throughout the village and in the centre of the village there are tennis courts, a children’s playground, and skateboard ramp.
Specific information about the Yuragir National Park can be downloaded from the National Parks website.
