SeaSpray is our 70's inspired funky beach house in Byron Bay's most beautiful beachside community - Broken Head. Just 7 kms to town & a 2 minute walk through coastal rainforest to the area's most secluded beach. Relax & indulge in our fun & inviting home with stunning ocean and lighthouse views.

SeaSpray is a large 4 bedroom home ideally suited to a big family or even two families who wish to holiday together. It is also ideal for 2 or 3 couples who wish to have their own space and yet enjoy the large entertaining areas to share.

Long term rates are also negotiable. Please note min week stay during Christmas/New Year & school holidays.

"BROKEN HEAD IS OUR JEWEL IN THE CROWN" - Byron Shire Mayor, Simon Richardson.

Enter via a private driveway to a garage for two cars, off-street parking for 4 cars in total, where we keep our surf boards, golf clubs, fishing rods, you'll need some tackle and ping pong table for your enjoyment. If you are a believer in the mantra 'don't judge a book by it's cover' then you'll love SeaSpray because on the outside... well... how can we put it? She's no oil painting. A classic 70's brick mansion but on the inside - woohoo

Up a flight of stairs from the garage is the home theatre/rumpus room where an enormous projector and screen, DVD's, Xbox One, old school board games and bean bags make it the perfect place for the kids to pass the time when the sun goes down or for the whole family at any time of day should the weather turn feral. Here too you will find the 'Grom Room' with 2 x bunk beds to accommodate up to 4 future world champs. Up a flight of stairs brings you to the open plan entertainer's kitchen, huge dining table to seat 10 and a large open lounge. Outdoors there is an undercover deck with Weber BBQ and Balinese day bed where you can view the iconic Byron Bay lighthouse. Skip a few more steps up and you'll find bedroom 2 with 2 x king singles, a laundry, separate toilet and bathroom and bedroom 3 complete with Queen size visco-elastic mattress memory foam with it's own tiny, ensuite. Finally up another flight of stairs is the Master bedroom with King size bed, ensuite and through a connecting door, the parents retreat/lounge. In this room there is a special nook where we can set up a porta-cot. From this top level the views are glorious, you can see the ocean sweep all the way to the Byron headland and across to the hinterland beyond. N.B. There is air conditioning in the TV room and kitchen/lounge only. All other bedrooms excluding Grom room, have ceiling fans.

SeaSpray is full of original, eclectic art - from retro film posters to local photographers and eccentric, humorous pop art. It's not bland, serviced apartment, inoffensive prints from Bunnings but we hope you find it fun & intriguing. However one area where SeaSpray is modern & new is our bedding. A good nights sleep is essential to a good stay so we have filled the house with top quality beds & luxurious linen.

Broken Head:

Broken Head is Byron Bay's best kept secret - a place that even most locals don't know about. Broken Head itself is a tranquil and protected beach and best of all the nature reserve headland provides a stunning walk to a series of secluded bays and beaches - a place to explore and discover your very own piece of paradise. There are only 9 permanent houses in Broken Head, a closed gate, low rise luxury tourist accommodation and at the very end of the road a small caravan park that shares this unique slice of serenity.

At the southern end of Tallows beach, Broken Head is protected from the southerlies and is renown as one of the areas top surfing spots. When it's really on, the point puts out a long right hander and when the banks line up, there's some serious barrels to be had. As it's quite spread out, there are lefts and rights all the way up the 6.5 km of Tallows beach to Cosy Corner - the best spot when the northerlies have blown out everywhere else. Or take the 10 minute headland walk at Broken Head and surf your very own 'cosy corner' within the nature reserve. Whilst Byron's points are all over surfed and crowded, there is always a spare wave to be had at Broken. Just a 10 minute drive south will bring you to Lennox Head and another legendary break.

Nature lovers will appreciate the 98 hectare beach front reserve that runs from the Ti-tree lake, a sacred site for the local Bundjalung people that flows down to the beach. Further south along a gravel road, you can enjoy the rugged coastline and numerous very private beaches and coves. On Broken Head headland itself, there's a stunning 1.6km trail where you can view right up and down the coast and see dolphins playing in the waves whilst during migration season, humpbacks can be spotted on their relentless march up and down the eastern seaboard.

Why you will love SeaSpray and Broken Head:

Do you remember the beach holidays you used to have as a child? Endless hours exploring unspoilt beaches, sand dunes, rock pools and headlands. Swimming, snorkelling, surfing, fishing and bike riding whilst mum and dad lazed about, went for long beach walks, snoozed on the lounge and had a holiday of their own. SeaSpray is a classic 70's design and rather than fight it, we've gone to town, filling our home with classic retro and eclectic decor. Yet SeaSpray is all set up to make a beach holiday a breeze with all the modern conveniences, a brand spanking new kitchen, including an espresso machine to perfect your barista skills, plenty of room for individuals to find their own space and we reckon just about everything you could wish for to make a family holiday to remember. Let the sounds of the ocean nurse you to sleep every night as you reconnect with the beach holidays of yesteryear and we'll provide a memory for you and your family just like the ones you cherish from your childhood.

The house is all yours There are a couple of closets we keep for ourselves and one kitchen cabinet but otherwise please relax in your own privacy as the house, garden and deck is all yours to enjoy.

All the equipment including ping pong table, surf boards and all the books and games are yours to respectfully enjoy. Bikes are a great way to get around however they are an insurance nightmare so can only be used if you agree to sign an indemnity form - basically an understanding that even if the bike is faulty, you take full responsibility for using it. There are a couple of fishing rods available too, although if you're a keen fisher you might want to bring your own gear - either way you'll definitely need some tackle.

We provide guests with a full compendium of information to answer just about everything you would be interested in about the area and the services on offer. The house itself is completely yours and we are available by phone to answer any queries and if necessary drop by to help.

Otherwise we leave you on your own to enjoy the serenity of Broken Head. Occasionally there will be someone to tidy up the garden etc but they will leave you in peace.

Getting Around:

Parking at SeaSpray is a cinch. There is a garage for two regular sized vehicles and space also on the driveway to park. The caravan park, 5 mins walk has a kiosk if you need to buy milk, an ice-cream etc. The nearest shops are at Suffolk Park - a quick 2 minute drive north. Byron Bay is another 5 minutes north from there.

Bikes are a great way to get around. We store our own bikes here but due to insurance issues - bike riding is at your own risk. A short 10 min ride up the beach will bring you to Suffolk Park and the local supermarket, cafe, bakery, chemist & bottle shop. From there, Byron is another 15 minute ride into town.
