The 2 story house is big enough to fit two families - one upstairs and one downstairs. Alternatively downstairs would be great for the kids - their own little retreat.
It's rustic and relaxed, close to the beach and has 4 bedrooms two queen and two double, two bathrooms, combined living and dining area and a kitchen upstairs and downstairs. The home is one of the oldest in Bruns and so has some creaks, but internally it is nicely presented, with vintage furniture.
The house has 3 bedrooms upstairs and 1 downstairs.
Downstairs has recently been renovated inside and out, so the house has had a bit of a make-over. There is a large area with a kitchenette includes portable oven and 2 hotplates and enough space for extra mattresses. It's almost as big as the top level of the house. It has one queen bed in it, a bathroom and separate toilet and a dining/living area and has access to a small backyard. The backyard has a table and chairs. The ceiling height for downstairs is only about 1.9metres, so it is a bit low. Please consider that when making a booking.
If you would like to hire the top half of the house only, check out the other listing - Bruns Beach Apartment. You can hire either the apartment which sleeps minimum 6 or the whole house which sleeps minimum 10. I separate the listings because sometimes I like to stay there myself.
Up until recently the property has been my home. Over the years friends and family have come to visit to enjoy the simple pleasures Brunswick Heads is known for. Even though it is not polished, people always say the house has a good feel.
Linen and towels are provided. The house is suitable for families. There is a portable cot, high chair and beach toys, as well as basic supplies such as coffee and tea making facilities. There are 2 separate single mattresses that can be put together to make a double bed and one single mattress. These can be used for extra guests, if necessary. There is plenty of space for the mattresses downstairs.
If you would like to hire a car, I have one available that is kept at the property. During the Christmas and holiday period it can be hired weekly, whereas other times the minimum hire time is 2 nights. If you would like to know more about this, please message me and I can send you the details.
The beach is about a 8-10 minute walk away and the village about 5 minutes. IGA and Home Grown are a 2 minute walk up the road. The bus stop is a minute walk down the road towards the highway. Mullumbimby is about a 5 minute drive away.
You can access the house from the front door. I will let you know where the key is when you make a booking.
Interaction with guests
There is no interaction with guests as I do not live in the house, but I am available if you need anything.
Other things to note
As many of you know, Bruns is a small community. It's really important to me that guests staying at the apartment are considerate of the neighbours. As such, the apartment is not a party house. In saying that I want guests to relax and enjoy themselves and make the most of the house and all that Bruns has to offer.
I hope you enjoy your stay. Bruns is such a beautiful place. I am sure you will have a wonderful time.
I love the relaxed feel of Bruns. It's a beautiful place to live with the stunning river and ocean. The ocean has sent me to sleep for the part 5 years, which is so soothing and comforting.
The cafes and restaurants provide great food and vibe. The pub also has some good music on, especially on Sunday afternoons.
Bruns is a beautiful place to visit. It has a very relaxed feel to it and is family friendly. I get along well with my neighbours and as such respect their right to quiet. Please look at other options if you would like a party house.
There is a bus stop close by, but most people have a car. There is a car kept on the property that I rent out as well. Please message me if you are interested in hiring a car.
Byron Bay is about a 10-15 minute drive south. Tyagarah, where the Blues Fest is held, is 5 minute drive south and Yelgun, where Splendor is held, is about 7 minutes drive north. Usually buses go from the Information Centre on Park Street in the village to these venues when the festivals are on.
