The Little House is 20 minutes inland from idyllic Brunswick Heads, 35 minutes from the beaches of Byron Bay. The cabin itself is a unique space, right next to a tinkling creek, in lush and beautiful rainforest surroundings. There is no phone, no mobile reception, and no internet. The Little House is a true retreat from the online world. If you need a digital detox, this is the place for you!
Though only one room, it sleeps five, with two queen-size bunks that drop from the ceiling, and one king-single on ground level.
Burringbar is a quiet, sleepy town, but it does have it's own butcher, general store, mechanic, laundromat, hairdresser and pharmacy! It is only 20 minutes from the idylic Brunswick Heads. 35 minutes from the beautiful beaches of Byron Bay, and the amazing Blues Fest. 30 minutes from the lovely townships of Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah. And only 15 minutes from North Byron Parklands (the home of Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival).
There is no public transport here. Own car, or hire car, is essential.
Other Things to Note
There is no vehicle access directly to the cabin. You must park at the main house and walk about 200m down to the Little House through lush gardens. If you require help with your luggage, this can be arranged.
Also, please remember this is a true bush-getaway, with only an outdoor (hot water!) shower and an outdoor composting toilet.
The cabin is situated in quite a forested area, so it is likely you'll experience some native wildlife. Possums, echidnas, and other smaller marsupials are often sighted in the surrounding bushland. There will also be some insect life, though we do our best to keep the cabin clear!
Another thing to keep in mind is that the region of Northern NSW often experiences quite a wet, sometimes stormy summer. Obviously, this is variable, but it is definitely worth checking the weather forecast before you arrive, so you can come prepared.
