It is situated upon one of the original farms in the Tweed Valley. The hut was built in early 1900s by the Vidler family who rented the surrounding land to grow crops.
Known to locals as one of the prettiest farms in the area, this stunning 165 acre property with views down the Tweed Valley is nestled in the shadow of Mt Warning.
The Hut still boasts many of the original features such as a potbelly stove yet its interiors have undergone a stylish update.
It features a day bed which opens out at night to a double bed linens and towels provided. The studio room overlooks the Oxley River as does the outdoor deck.
Sit back enjoy the river outlook and cook up a storm on the hut's barbecue.
Enjoy swimming in the river or bushwalks around property. A visit to the secluded island at the dam is also a must.
The property is filled with wildlife including turtles and bass in the river and an array of birds, wallabies and more on dry land.
The River Hut is located within a 30 minute drive of Gold Coast Airport and 40 minutes from Byron Bay.
The separate hot water shower and compost toilet are nearby.
The hut is unpowered but lighting is provided.
