The Barn is a converted shed fully insulated ceiling and walls that is part of a running macadamia farm in the beautiful Byron hinterland area. The Barn has stunning views of the both the Whian Whian National Park and rolling green farm hills. The combination of these views is what makes The Barn a very unique place to stay. The wild life on the farm is plentiful with wallabies being daily visitors and on a monthly basis you can see koalas. The bird life is spectacular with everything from kookaburras to cockatoos to owls.
There is a minimum of two night stays in The Barn and I only accept bookings with children who can swim as there are swimming holes in the creek that are dangerous for kids who can't swim.
Accommodation is simple but spacious. Downstairs is the dining, living and kitchen area, a bathroom with shower and a queen bed bedroom. Upstairs on the mezzanine level are four single beds. The lounge in the living area can also convert to a double bed. There are fans in all the sleeping and living areas.
Kitchen set up includes an electric cooking top with two elements, a microwave, a small electric oven and of course a fridge. There is a BBQ outside for guests to use at any time.
Linen provided includes doona's with covers for all beds, bath mat in bathroom and kitchen towels. We are happy to provide sheets and towels on request for an additional fee - depending on numbers.
Wifi access at the moment is from the verandah at the house, on request. Mobile reception isn't great but if you are with telstra you will be ok.
While staying at The Run you could enjoy a walk through the lovely macadamia orchards or head to the rainforest creek for more of an adventurous explore and to cool off. This is about a 5 minute walk there and 15 coming back as its up hill.
The Barn is located about 10 minuted from the famous Minyon Falls where there are plenty of great bushwalks to be had. Also near by are swimming holes at the Whian Whian Falls 10 mins away and in Coopers Creek 10mins away. Both are favourites of the locals to cool off.
Further afield is the gorgeous town of Bangalow about 20mins and Byron Bay about 40 mins. Discover the many different markets on in this area from Mullumbimby to The Channon and over to Lismore.
