Tucked into the foothills of Mt Warning, near Murwillumbah, is this quaint country cottage which offers peace, privacy and mountain views. Set on 5 acres, adjacent to the Tweed River, the house accommodates up to six people in comfort, and is conveniently located just 4 minutes from Uki and 15 minutes from Murwillumbah.

The house is a two bedroom fully self-contained cottage with quality queen size beds. Visitors need only bring food supplies and the usual accessories for a stay in the country. We supply the linen, towels and some of the things you'll need for cooking salt, pepper, oil, etc.

Consisting of two separate sections, the studio room has a very large living area, with one wall opening completely to catch the breezes in summer. It contains large, comfortable leather couches, the TV including DVD and stereo and one queen bed.

The main part of the house contains the kitchen gas stove, microwave, fridge, all cutlery, pots, pans and utensils, the lovely open fireplace wood supplied too and a private mezzanine sleeping area with a queen bed. This section also has a comfortable queen futon bed, if required. Please note that the stairs are very steep, so we don't recommend small children under 5 being allowed upstairs.

The two parts of the house are adjacent but not connected, though they are covered by the pergola roof.

The cottage is just 4km from Uki Village, a warm and welcoming community of quirky characters. On Saturday morning, the Uki hall is busy with locals buying their weekly fresh produce, while the Uki Buttery Bazaar Markets take place on the third Sunday of the month. The cafe serves great food and coffee and there's a supermarket, fuel station and various other shops.

This is the ideal location if you want to climb Mt Warning, explore the Tweed Valley, Byron Bay and the Southern Gold Coast. In summer, the beaches from Kingscliff to Pottsville are within an easy half hour drive, though you may prefer to relax in the river and try to spot the local platypus, or wander through the shady grassland and gum trees on the property.

The property is fine as a romantic getaway for one couple but is just as ideal for two couples or a family. Maximum comfortable occupancy is 6 people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely country cottage We had a wedding nearby Uki so rented the house for the groom & best men. Very good communication for booking and was very happy with the house. It's set in such a pretty location, they guys even had a swim in the creek nearby. The house is quirky, spacious & equipped well. The verandah view was lovely. I'd have no hesitation in recommending the property. Close to uki shops & pub if needed 5 mins away. Right near the beautiful mt warning. A great getaway place.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sooooo relaxing We were a party of three couples and we found the cottage to be very comfortable and cosy. The views from the big windows in the new section are amazing and we all sat and relaxed over a G&T just soaking up the peace and beauty. In the evening we cooked in the well equiped kitchen and then greatly enjoyed doing one of the jigsaw puzzles left for our entertainment. Joe was incredibly friendly and helpfull. I greatly appreciated his call to make sure we were settled in the cottage and didn't need anything. We had a fantastic weekend climbing, cycling and kayaking and the cottage was a perfect base for us to explore this beautiful area. P.S Uki sells the best pies on the planet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely country cottage I stayed here with a group of five friends last weekend, using the cottage as a base to climb the nearby Mount Warning. Joe was very accommodating in helping us with our arrangements and plans for the weekend. His communication and information about the property was very helpful. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we arrived, but we had no issues getting in and setting ourselves up. As mentioned, the stairs to the upper level are quite steep, but there are only beds up there, so not as though you have to go up/down a lot. There is a contradiction of styles between the original cottage and the new wing. The original cottage has some rustic elements and perhaps the worst to be mentioned is the kitchen bench will soon need replacing, yet this does not detract from its functionality or the overall comfort of the property. There are lots of extra supplies dotted throughout the kitchen and bathroom and the linen and beds were clean and comfy with lovely soft towels and plenty of pillows. The new wing is of course, modern and comfortable. Lovely big windows, huge comfy bed and large leather couch. A great place to relax. Unfortunately we did not get around the whole property, but I'm sure with a couple of days or a week here it would be fun to explore. Uki and the surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful, and the cottage would make a great home-away-from-home for your holiday.
