Looking for a relaxing getaway in stunning natural surroundings? We invite you to come and enjoy the peaceful paradise at Wooli River Lodges on the NSW North Coast. Wooli is East of Grafton, north of Coffs Harbour and south of Byron Bay. We're approximately half way between Sydney and Brisbane.
We have 9 lodges in total. Two are Riverside Lodges. Lodge 7 is 2 storey with an additional deck on the 2nd floor as well as the main bedroom and its ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom, second bathroom, kitchen and lounge/dining area are downstairs on the ground floor as well as another deck with outdoor furniture.
Lodge 8 has the same inclusions but is one storey. It has a single extended deck.
Surrounded by Yuraygir National Park and Solitary Islands Marine Park, you will be in a precious natural environment that we share with some of the most spectacular plants and animals in NSW. Wooli is on the longest stretch of undeveloped coast in NSW and the Wooli River is regularly named the cleanest river in NSW.
Our established lodges are set in 2 acres of landscaped gardens and our accommodation offers you the ultimate getaway if you're looking for peace and tranquility.
All lodges have views over our landscaped gardens and river. You have free use of the swimming pool, well equipped BBQ area and free use of our canoes and paddle boats. All lodges have equipped kitchens, fresh linen and sleep 5 people.

Boating and Canoeing on the Wooli River
Our canoes are free to Wooli River Lodges guests - no visit to Wooli is complete without a paddle on our beautiful river When you stay at Wooli River Lodges, canoeing is included in your stay. Guests are free to borrow one of our three canoes to explore the river. Its just a few steps from your lodge to the river's edge where our canoes are waiting for you.
Our canoes are Old Town Rockport and are suitable for up to 3 people. There is a compartment for your valuables. Life jackets and paddles are supplies.
Our 2 paddle boats are very popular with all guests, especially children who love to explore the river.
Wooli is surrounded by some excellent walking tracks and trails: in town, along the beach and river, up to Wilson's Headland and in Yuraygir National Park. The walking tracks range from 800m to 15.6k km in length and are relatively flat and easy going. You may even see the endangered coast emu Dramaius Novaehollandiae. A delightful walk right from the lodges starts at the telegraph pole opposite the entry to the lodges and takes you to the beach. You pass through spectacular heath lands and you'll see the wide variety of plants and birds that the area is renowned for. You can get a map of walks from the folder in your lodge or from our office.
The newly opened Yuraygir Coastal Walk is a magnificent 96km 4 day walk that passes through Wooli. Guests can easily do parts of the walk from the Lodges, or stay at the lodges on their way through.
Wooli has long been famous for outstanding fishing, due to its distance from other coastal centres. Dangle a line from the riverbank or in the estuary flathead, whiting, bream, off the rock wall jewfish, mangrove jack or on the beach bream, jewfish, tailor. Alternatively, launch a boat from one of Wooli's boat ramps or go on a fishing charter.
Fishing Charters and Whale Watching Tours
Go river or deep-sea fishing with one of Wooli's deep sea fishing operators who can also take you out on a whale-watching cruise to see migrating Humpback Whales between May and November.
Diving and Snorkelling
The Solitary Islands Marine Park, just off our coast, offers an unforgettable underwater world for you to enjoy. Wooli has an excellent scuba diving centre and PADI training facility offering snorkeling and diving tours and training. You can also try some easy snorkeling yourself in the Wooli River and at the rock platforms at Diggers Camp and at Minnie Water.
Private river charters and eco tours and self-drive river boats are all available on the pristine Wooli Wooli River.
If you're staying at Wooli River Lodges you can take out one of the our 3 seater canoes free of charge. If you want to hire a tinny, you can contact the boat hire.
Wooli has kilometres of beautiful, unspoilt beaches for you to enjoy. with beach patrols during holiday periods. The Wooli Wooli River, one of the cleanest in Australia, has a sheltered lagoon at its mouth at high tide and is perfect for a calm swim in crystal clear waters. There is a cove and some great rock pools at Diggers camp and Minnie Water, both just north of Wooli. And if you're staying at Wooli River Lodges, you can also take a refreshing dip in our riverside pool.
Bring your surfboard and surf some of the breaks on protected beaches along the outstretched coastline at Wooli and Minnie Waters and at Wilson's Headland for more experience surfers.
Keen photographers, both amateur and professional, love Wooli and its surroundings for its abundance of natural beauty, interesting landscapes and incredible bird life and wildlife. Different times of the day and different seasons offer plenty of opportunities for some amazing shots you will be proud to show off.
Wooli is a veritable birdwatchers' paradise. With the river just a few steps away and the vast wilderness of Yuraygir National Park just across the road and on the opposite side of the river, Wooli River Lodges is an ideal base for birdwatchers. Around 190 species of birds have been recorded at Yuraygir National Park, 30 of which are listed as endangered.
Some of the highlights of local birdwatching includes a black necked stork Jabiru in the river at the lodges, ground parrots at Wilson's Headland, white necked storks in the NP across the road from us and the endangered coastal emu in the grounds of the lodges. More common highlights are the blue faced honeyeaters, yellow tailed black cockatoos, white cheeked honeyeaters, eastern rosellas and king parrots.

Your Lodge includes;
Your kitchen has a full size fridge, convection microwave does usual microwave things as well as roasting meat, heating frozen pies well, electric frypan, electric kettle and toaster, plus crockery, cutlery, utensils, glassware and bowls for cooking, salad and the microwave. Several sachets of complimentary tea, coffee and sugar sachets are included.
Both bathrooms include a shower, toilet and local hardwood vanity bench with sink and shelf below and a mirror.
Reverse cycle air conditioner ensures you'll be comfortable all times of the year.
The main bedroom includes a good quality queen size mattress with linen and shelves for your clothes. Bedside shelves have a reading lamp.
The main bedroom is completely separate from the second bedroom. The main bedroom has a high quality queen bed with linen. The second bedroom has a tri bunk double on the bottom, single on top with good quality mattresses with linen.
The open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen has a dining table with 4 chairs, a sofa that can be folded out to make a bed, enough for a child to sleep on, a TV and DVD player.
The river and pool facing deck has outdoor furniture so you can enjoy the birds, the garden and the beautiful views.
The 2 acre grounds are landscaped and planted with native and tropical plants to attract the birds and to provide privacy for guests. Our pool has a shade over part of it and is open from 7am to 7pm.
Our BBQ area includes a large gas BBQ, a full size gas cook top and oven, microwave, electric kettle and toaster for all your cooking needs. The cupboard contains crockery, cutlery, glassware and utensils so that you don't have to bring it from your lodge when you all have a meal together. The BBQ area is right next to the pool so you can watch the children as they play in the pool while you prepare dinner.
Grassy areas also mean that everyone can play games together, just like you used to when you were a child.
