Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what we wanted Some of the adverse comments by other users of this house were rather unfair. The fan in the main bedroom was a bit noisy (from the review, I was expecting to hear a sound like an angle-grinder!), but we turned it down to Medium when we went to bed, and it was ok. Yes, there was a bit of dust in some rooms - hard to avoid in country areas - but there were only a few screens with holes in them, and these were in places where it didn't matter. The fly trap problem was easily resolved. I spoke to the neighbour (who also looks after the pool), he told me that most residents have one, to reduce the number of flies. But he was happy to remove the one in question. We enjoyed our stay - the living area has been renovated, and the beds were comfortable. The horizontal blinds (which are terrible dust-gatherers) are soon to be replaced, as are the "noisy" fans. The pool was great (identical to our pool at home), and more secluded and private than others on the canal. If you want everything to be perfect and spotless, then pay $350-$400 per night for a room in a 5-star hotel. This house is not perfect, but at $160 per night, it's good value for money, and a great place for a relaxing holiday. Finally, the people at YIRE were always friendly and helpful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Christmas Holiday The lounge/kitchen overlooking the canal was lovely with air-conditioning. The remainder of the house wasn't usable due to the heat and no air-conditioning in the rest of the house. Fans in each room were noisy. We had a lovely time spent in the pool and lounge/kitchen. I wouldn't stay again as it was expensive for what it was. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't be back.... This place really needs some work. The furniture is old & needs replacing. Most of the flyscreens have holes in them so you can't have the windows/ doors open. Thick layer of dust on the fans, cob webs & spiders in most corners. Your lovely neighbour has a fly catcher hanging on the fence - its full of dead rotting flies (the smell is awful). It made for a really disappointing stay in Yamba :-(
