Tracton Homestead is located half way between Sydney and Melbourne at the base of the pristine Snowy Mountains and is perfect for a family holiday, a friend's weekend away or those looking for a little peace and quiet. Located only 5 minutes drive from the centre of Adelong, Tracton Homestead provides the perfect escape with peace and tranquility.
'Tracton Homestead' is located on an 1100 acre working sheep and cattle farm and neighbours our other farm 'Moorallie' home of Moorallie Cottage. With both 'Tracton' and 'Moorallie' being neighbouring farms we are happy for all of our guests to access both properties during their stay. Guests are welcome to use the swimming pool and tennis court located at Moorallie during their stay.
Nestled on the bank of the Adelong Creek, Adelong is a town of some 900 residents. The verandah-lined main street is classified by the National Heritage Trust of Australia NSW with some buildings dating back to the gold rush era of the 1800’s. The heritage-listed Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins holds some of the history of when gold was discovered in Adelong in 1852.
With origins steeped in pioneer history and gold, and the preserved ruins of the gold mill open to exploration, the town makes for a wonderful base to explore the region's nearby wineries, lakes, rivers, mountains, caves, forests and snowfields.
