Built in 2012, Deckhouse combines the traditional charm of a coastal cottage with a contemporary open plan lifestyle design.
This architecturally designed house utilises large bi-fold doors to seamlessly combine a large and appealing deck with the open plan interior. Inside and outside merge creating a large and versatile area for relaxing, dining and entertaining.
Three steps connect this space to an ample front yard that invites you to play cricket, croquet, badminton or boules.
The three bedrooms provide accommodation for up to 8 people more than enough space for a family, providing the option of sharing the house, inviting friends or just spreading out and enjoying the room.
The kitchen has modern appliances and everything you will need to conjure up a culinary delight or do something more relaxed and simple. The gas stove provides the sort of control that the keenest cooks enjoy and is easy enough to use for novices. A dishwasher will take care of the dishes, allowing you and your family more time to relax.
The dining area and the living area are located alongside the kitchen. An 8- seat dining table provides for a more formal dinner setting or just taking advantage of the convenience of being close to the kitchen.
The living area has two couches strategically located in front of a flat screen TV where hours can disappear and the cares of the world can look after themselves as you curl up to read a book or watch your favourite show or movie.
Two bathrooms and two external showers provide capacity for up to 4 people to shower at the same time. The laundry is located at the rear of the Deckhouse allowing easy access to the backyard where a clothesline provides the ultimate solar powered drying option.
The Deckhouse captures the sun’s rays through solar panels providing you with a green power option while away on holidays.
Kirby’s Beach and Berrara Beach are both a short walk from the Deckhouse. Both beaches are typical of South Coast beaches, crowded by beauty and not people. Keen surfers will enjoy the many good breaks in the area including The Reef.
Berrara Lagoon is a short walk from the Deckhouse and the more expansive Swan Lake is a short drive. Both provide beautiful kayaking experiences. Watching the sunset over Berrara Lagoon while enjoying a casual drink is one of the highlights of the area. There are lots of bush tracks that can be walked, run or peddled upon.
There are so many ways to enjoy the peaceful unspoilt beauty of this area. You can run, swim, paddle, snorkel, ride or wander.
Then again you may just want to sit on the deck and just soak it all in.
