Our house is full of warm timbers and cathedral ceilings which gives it a traditional look and we're often told it feels like a 'house cuddle'.
We've had heaps of fun over the last 25 years collecting and planting
Grevillas, Camellia's, Ferns, Bottlebrush & Climbing Rose (to name a few)
to create paths and nooks to enjoy a quiet read in the shade or kick back and sun bathe on a summers day.
We want you to enjoy sitting in the backyard with the King Parrots and Rozellas' (and a cheeky visiting family of satin bowerbirds) that all come to play at the bird feeders and baths dotted around the garden.
There's space for 8 to dine at the inside dining table or there is the alfresco option on the paved terrace.
Very pleasant to put on some music whilst chilling in the lounge room or creating a meal in the open country kitchen.
We've had lovely evenings with big groups of friends - the books, nic nacs and pictures surrounding us inspire vibrant conversation.
The master bedroom on the ground floor (with ensuite bathroom) is a large room with French doors to the back terrace that allows the sound of the water feature to tinkle in of an evening.
Our upstairs bedrooms are good sized rooms full of warmth and charm. The raised bed with it's little stairs in the Bluegum Bedroom has always been a favourite with the grandkids.
(Be mindful, not suitable for children under 5).
The bedroom setup is as follows:
Grevillea - Queen Bed (sleeps 2)
Flowering Plum - Queen Bed (sleeps 2)
Hibiscus - Queen Bed (sleeps 2)
Native Cherry - Comfortable Day bed that pulls out to a Double (sleeps 2)
Bluegum - raised double bed (comfortable sleep for 1 or snuggly sleep for 2)
Bathroom downstairs with shower toilet and laundry off Grevillea bedroom
Family bathroom upstairs with rainforest shower head over corner bath and toilet.
There is an upstairs balcony that runs from 2 of the bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom - sitting on it feels like you're up in the trees, a great place for an early coffee or a late afternoon beverage.
While being great as a getaway for groups of couples this place is also ideal for families - the little ones can have an adventure catching tadpoles in the backyard.
There is off street parking for two cars and plenty of free street parking.
First Sunday of every month is our famous Berry market at the local Showground where you can find something for everyone to enjoy.
A short drive along Beach Rd takes you to Seven Mile Beach where we've enjoyed building small sandcastles with small people and massive sand palaces for 21st birthday's.
Berry town itself is fantastically situated for visits to the Wineries, Dolphin Cruises, Golf Clubs & Pubs (with random music afternoons!) in the surrounding area.
For those who like a good bush walk before dinner these locations will make your day:
Minnamurra Falls, Fitzroy Falls, Barren Grounds (Jamberoo)
There are some magical beaches within half an hours radius of the house
Vincentia, Huskisson, Kiama, Gerringong, Werri, Gerroa, Shoalhaven Heads and Seven Mile.
Other towns worth wandering through within a 15-50min drive:
Bowral, Kangaroo Valley, Kiama
If you're interested in local festivals or events please just ask us when booking and we can tell you what is going on in the area at that time of year.
Our home is organic, traditional and alternative with raw brick, earthy strong timber tones and slate floors. Our aim has been to blur the borders between 'inside' and 'outside' - an occasional guest in the form of a butterfly or tree frog may wander inside to say hello.
We have always been told by visitors that there is a welcoming and nurturing vibe. We love our home and we hope that you will too.
We would welcome all constructive feedback as we may be able to incorporate your ideas alongside our own thoughts.
(Please nothing too unkind as that's not in the spirit of which we're opening our house to others).
We want you to leave our space feeling refreshed and revived and feel that you've stayed with friends in the country.
