The holiday feel is immediate - the ocean views, the sea breeze, the bird sounds create a wonderful relaxed ambiance in this small community. Previously the Congo Fire Shed, the property has been tastefully renovated into a modern, open plan two and a half bedroom home. The house is furnished with bright and fun retro furnishings, sourced from second hand shops and garage sales and lovingly restored. The beach is an easy two-minute stroll away, and a bench at the top of the property allows you to enjoy views south across Congo beach with Montague Island in the distance. The bench is perfect for whale watching, morning coffee or an evening glass of wine.
Well-behaved dogs are most welcome - please advise on booking. Dogs can enjoy the beach with you during certain hours.

The home is perfect for a couple or a small family. Downstairs is the bathroom, open plan living/kitchen and dining area and a small bedroom. Upstairs is the main bedroom and second bedroom. The bed configuration is one double and a single bed in each of the other two rooms. There is an option of a day bed in the lounge area to make sleeping arrangements for 5 people. Throughout the home is artwork by renowned local artist Brett Martin.
The large covered verandah is ideal for casual outdoor meals - enjoy use of the full size gas BBQ while taking in the sea and mountains views to the north.
In the lounge area is a BOSE stereo,large screen LG TV and a DVD Player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a new gas cooktop and oven, microwave and full size fridge. The main bedroom has ocean views. Two bedrooms have built in wardrobes. The second bedroom has a DVD player. A comfortable desk and adjustable chair are provided - with an ocean view - if you would like to spend time for writing, sabbaticals and work projects.
There is excellent mobile reception and access to a regional airport. You will also find novels to read and a folder of local information to help you make the most of your stay.
Nearby Congo Creek is tidal, protected from the sea it is an ideal swimming spot for young children. Kayaking on the creek, you will be greeted with diverse birdlife and flora (such as native orchids). The Eurobodalla National Park is on your doorstep with established interpretative walks taking in local Aboriginal culture and unmarked trails to hidden beaches. The park provides fantastic opportunities for walking, mountain biking and running. The southern end of Congo beach takes in the Batemans Marine Park, with excellent snorkelling and fishing. A renowned surfing location, Congo also has a sheltered and safe swimming beach.
The town of Moruya has great boutique shops, excellent cafes and dining options such as Nepalese or al-a-carte at The River Restaurant. Fresh locally grown produce can be sourced at the award winning weekly Farmers Market held every Tuesday (voted Most Outstanding Farmers Market of the Year by Delicious Magazine 2014) or at the weekly Saturday Market – both at Riverside Park.
