A modern take on classic Currarong fibro, the Old Bus Shed allows you to enjoy sweeping views of the coast from the comfort of a contemporary home.
Perfect for two families, the house features:
-2 king-sized bedrooms
-1 queen-sized bedroom
-a bunk room with 4 singles
If you love your food and coffee, you won't find a beach house better than this, with a top-notch coffee machine, great appliances, plenty of pots and pans and a pantry stocked with herbs, spices, cookbooks and condiments. We also provide tips on where to go for local gourmet supplies.
Step out the back door and there's another surprise: the original building that gives the property its name. These days it's a renovated living space with soaring ceilings. It opens onto an enormous, grassy reserve that is the perfect place for kids to play when you've had enough of the beach.
Living space aplenty
Once you have climbed the stairs to the upper living space, you won't want to leave it.
The large deck provides the perfect position for whale watching or simply enjoying a G&T. It has a table seating 12 and a gas BBQ.
On cooler days, you can admire the view from the lounge inside, while enjoying the warmth of the bioethanol fire.
If you want to escape to a quiet nook, the property has a number of other living spaces, including a large living area on the lower level, a lower deck and the enormous Old Bus Shed, furnished with day beds and another large dining table.
There are flatscreen TVs with Foxtel in the upper and lower lounges. Wifi is also included.
Currarong is in a unique position, tucked inside the northern headland of Jervis Bay and surrounded by bush.
The water is generally calm, crystal clear and full of sea life, including the occasional whale.
Across the road from the house is Currarong Creek (a great place for little kids) and Warrain Beach, which stretches some 14km to Culburra.
A short walk away is Abraham's Bosom Beach, a pristine beach surrounded by rock platforms and native vegetation.
Abraham's Bosom is also the starting point for walking tracks on Beecroft Headland, with access to more beaches and the remains of a shipwreck.
If you don't mind a short drive, in less than 10 minutes you can be on one of the amazing, often deserted Jervis Bay beaches such as Honeymoon Bay, Long Beach or Cabbage Tree.
There are plenty of great fishing spots within a short walk of the house.
Currarong also offers a skateboard ramp, a children's playground and tennis courts.
The garage is stocked with bikes of all sizes, a kayak, kites and fishing rods.
