Broadway Blues is a classic 1960s beach cottage transformed into a self-contained resort with amazing ocean and mountain views. Located in Gerroa's dress circle, two doors down from the famed Kingsford Smith Lookout, this three-level home, with heated plunge/lap pool and spa is more like a resort than a mere holiday house.
SPACE, PRIVACY, VIEWS
Nearly every room and private outdoor space of this cleverly designed property enjoy incredible views of Seven Mile Beach National Park and the Shoalhaven Bight, as well as spectacular sunsets over the Berry escarpment and Mount Coolangatta.
With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and six separate indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, the property offers a multiude of places to gather together or intimate nooks to hide away. It is ideal for multi-generation family holidays, girls' weekends away and even corporate retreats onsite concierge and other services if required.
The house is designed to take full advantage of the amazing views, both winter and summer, with sunny protected spots in winter and shady spaces cooled by the prevailing north-easterlies on hot summer afternoons.
With a central double-sided wood burning fireplace on the main level, and either gas or underfloor heating elsewhere, the house is designed for maximum comfort and relaxation year round. Some classic mid-century furniture reflects the humble origins of the original 60s beachhouse built by Blue and from every nearly corner of the home the pool mural inspired by Mondrian's "Broadway Boogie Woogie Blues" catches the eye.

Its plunge section has powerful swim jets and seating, and the 12-metre lap section has an infinity edge and waterfall overlooking the ocean. BROADWAY BLUES - THE BOAT
Guests at Broadway Blues have access to a beautiful old houseboat moored at a private jetty on the beautiful Shoalhaven River just 10 minutes from the house. Come and use our rowboat or kayaks for a paddle on the river. Forage for wild oysters or do a spot of fishing in comfort from the top deck. Even better, you can bring your own boat and leave it safely moored on the river during your stay.
Unlike most holiday rental properties managed by agents, you are dealing directly with an owner who lives locally and will greet you on arrival and show you over the property. I am on call 24/7 during your stay and can stay on-site if required.
Groceries can be ordered online through the major supermarkets and delivered and packed away ready for your arrival.
We have organised everything from in-house massages and beauty treatments, deep-sea fishing & whale-watching trips to cheese and butter-making workshops on local farms.
Plenty of guests arrive at Broadway Blues and never leave the house till it's time to go. It's Relaxation Central year round. The best view in the house if from the spa with wine in hand, and there's always a show - whether it's scores of colourful kitesurfers jumping the waves, whales and dolphins frolicking in the bay or, look up, majestic sea eagles or pelicans soaring in the thermals. Turn up that heat and take in the countless stars of the southern sky, or be blasted by a midwinter squall as it sweeps across the bay leaving a trail of frothy whitecaps. Fall asleep to the sound of crashing surf and wake to a chorus of cows off to be milked at a nearby farm.
Gerroa's safe surf beaches, the local store/post office/newsagency and an award-winning café/restaurant are a five-minute stroll down the hill a 10-minute walk back - worth it for that view And the ultimate convenience - whether you're after a monster seafood platter or takeaway alcohol, the Fisherman's Club is just 50 metres up the lane opposite. Just a little further is another great protected beach with a secret natural pool & spa for when the southerly blows it's great for shell collecting & fossils.
There's a great surfie kiosk with cut-above takeaway and Grinders coffee, with kayaks to be hired to explore the Crooked River estuary and wetlands. Just 200 metres from the house - on a wide cycle & walking path - there's a farmstand with free range eggs and local produce. A little further and you're on the golf course with one of the best oceanfront views in the world.
Gerringong 5 minute drive and Berry 10 minutes have IGA supermarkets, butchers, leisure shopping, cute local museums and a range of restaurants and cafes. There's half a dozen wineries with cellar doors within half an hour, and there'll be a market on somewhere nearby every weekend. Foodies staying midweek shouldn't miss the new Kiama Farmers' Market each Wednesday afternoon, or oysters straight off Jim Wild's oyster leases at Greenwell Point he's a world champion shucker and a real character - so it's dinner and a show.
