Transition - Beachings is under new ownership and during 2016 will undergo a significant refurbishment. This is already reflected in the large open plan kitchen / dining / living room - with new photos uploaded to reflect that. New matching linen and duvet covers are also in place and will be reflected soon in new photos. The property gets better week by week
"Pay for 2, stay for 3" special - this property offers the "pay for 2, stay for 3" special on weekends, "3 for 4" on long weekends, or "5 for 4" over Easter. The special can be applied to any day of arrival - if the applicable weekend rate is paid. The special does not apply in December and January.
Location - Beachings is located at the southern end of Hyams Beach in a circuit that backs on to the Jervis Bay National Park. It is a quiet bush setting, with a huge array of birdlife, but only a very short stroll to Hyams Beach and just around the corner from the Hyams Beach Cafe.
Key Features -The property has a lovely deck overlooking the bush surrounds. It is only across the road from the Jervis Bay National Park which also borders Booderee National Park. The house is expansive and can cater to a large group.
Configuration -Beachings is a large and spacious two storey home with an open plan living area off the kitchen downstairs that fronts on to the deck. The bedrooms are generous in size and offer a number of different bedding requirements.
Upstairs has two very largebedrooms - each with one queen bed. Both of thebedrooms have ceiling fans, and both have access to a balcony that overlooks the lovely bush reserve behind the house.
Downstairs has three bedrooms - one with 2 singles, one with a tri-bunk bed queen on the bottom + king single on top, and a third bedroom with tri-bunk again queen on the bottom, king single on top plus a regular single.
Outdoors - The deck is large, open and private. It has a lovely bush aspect, a BBQ and an outdoor dining setting as well as a bird feeder for up close encounters. There is also a brick firepit,outdoor shower with hot water, and a lovely bush path that leads down to the beach.
Heating and Cooling - Beachings has two electric heaters and two ceiling fans.
Linen - Beachings does provide linen and bath towelsfor guests. Please however remember to bring your beach towels.
Parking - There is off-street parking for several cars and potentially a boat.
Pets - Sorry, Beachings is not a pet friendly property.
Minimum stay - There is a minimum 2 night stay for all bookings, which changes to 3 nights on long weekends, 4 nights at Easter and 7 night blocks during peak season. Peak season runs from mid-December to the end of the Australia Day long weekend in January
Peak changeover day - Please note that during peak season, our properties have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable.
Internet / Wi-Fi access - please be aware that there is no ADSL in Hyams Beach and poor ADSL internet in most other areas of Jervis Bay. As a result, until the NBN is rolled out, none of our houses offers internet access. If a house has internet, you may use it but with no guarantee by us or the owner re its reliability. If you bring an internet dongle, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise guests go to various cafes in Huskisson, the Sanctuary Point Public Library or the St Georges Basin Country Club - all of which provide free Wi-Fi.
Special information - Silver Strand is a particularly tranquilpocket of Hyams Beach. If you book this house with a large group, please respect the peace and quiet of the near neighbours, and keep your noise inside after 10.30 pm.
