Transformation - Chinamans has new owners who are in the process of upgrading, updating and redecorating the property. Everything will be much improved, and as soon as fresh photos are available, they will be uploaded. As of January 2017 when the calendars open for bookings, everything in the house will be new - beds, mattresses, pillows, linen, towels, furniture, crockery, cutlery, fridge etc etc.
Location - Chinamans is located on the prime waterfront strip, in the north-eastern corner of Hyams Beach village. It has serene views of Jervis Bay and along Chinamans Beach - arguably the prettiest view in Hyams The walk to the beach access point is also only 100 metres, if that.

Configuration - Chinamans has an H-shaped layout with the open plan living and dining area + the master bedroom with en-suite at the front of the house, both with ocean views. The kitchen is at the centre of the house, but is still open plan to the dining and lounge area. The rear of the house then has two bedrooms one with a queen bed, and the second with a double bunk and single bed, a second shared bathroom, separate toilet, and the rear yard area. The back garden has a small lawn area, timber deck and BBQ for outdoor entertaining, as well as an outdoor shower.

Heating and cooling -Chinamans has a great slow combustion wood fired stove in the open plan living area, as well as heaters for the bedrooms. The house can also be opened up to catch any available sea breeze on a warmer day.
Linen -high quality linen and bath towels are supplied at Chinamans. Please however remember to bring your own beach towels.
Parking - there is a side driveway with parking for 2-3 cars, as well as some on-street parking.
Pets - sorry, Chinamans is not a pet friendly property.
Minimum stay - there is a minimum 2 night stay for all bookings, which changes to 3 nights on long weekends, 4 nights at Easter and 7 night blocks during peak season. Peak season runs from mid-December to the end of the Australia Day long weekend in January
Peak changeover day - please note that during peak season, our properties have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable.
Internet / Wi-Fi access- please be aware that there is no ADSL in Hyams Beach and poor ADSL internet in most other areas of Jervis Bay. As a result, until the NBN is rolled out, none of our houses offers internet access. If a house has internet, you may use it but with no guarantee by us or the owner re its reliability. If you bring an internet dongle, the best network is generally Telstra. Otherwise guests go to various cafes in Huskisson, the Sanctuary Point Public Library or the St Georges Basin Country Club - all of which provide free Wi-Fi.
Special information - the single lock up garage is reserved for use by the owners.
