Minnamurra Rainforest and Barren Grounds Bird Observatory and Nature Reserve, two of the State's natural treasures, are both close to Jamberoo. To the west is Budderoo National Park, another wild jewel.
Jamberoo was established in 1820, originally to harvest the rich cedar forests that built much of colonial Sydney. By the 1830s, it was a thriving village at the centre of a rich dairy area; today, the town retains much of its historic character. Explore the historic churches and poke around in Fredericks General Store.
Bend an elbow with the locals at the Jamberoo Pub on Sunday afternoon, when bush bands perform or head to town for the monthly Jamberoo Arts and Craft Fair. Held on the last Sunday of every month, the fair offers fresh local produce, preserves, crafts and live entertainment.
Nearby, there are some great things to do with the whole family. Go wild at Jamberoo Action Park, an action-packed family adventure playground, or follow the boardwalk at Minnamurra Rainforest and marvel at the tangled subtropical rainforest. The town is also within easy reach of the surf beaches around Kiama.
The host was lovely, met us on late arrival with a goodie bag of wine and sweet treats and had the heating on in the Bell Tower which was lovely. It was very warm for such a large space. We had a great stay and would stay again. The pub a few doors down was hopping every night. Jamberoo is perfectly located just a short drive to Berry and Gerroa- country retreat a stones throw to the coast. The local IGA is well stocked catering to all cullinery taste with wine and local cheese. It was my husband, 10 month old son and my sister for the long weekend at the Bell Tower. Even though it is all open plan including beds, it is such a vast space with appropriate partitions that we still had privacy as a couple.
