ClareVilla is situated on 10 high open and rolling green acres overlooking the Morton National Park, 8kms from Kangaroo Valley Village. It shares the property with the main house which is approximately 60 metres away.
Less than two and a half hours drive from Sydney you are transported to paradise where as far as the eye can see are the hills and valleys of the Morton National Park.
The Villa is a recently renovated old mud brick barn. It is a 'post and beam' construction using bricks manufactured on site and ancient timber beams sourced from old wool stores and dismantled docks. In its new life it is a sophisticated yet relaxed space, perfect for unwinding at the end of a busy working week or enjoying a beer and barbie in the company of friends.
The Villa is ideally suited for a couple's getaway. Accommodation consists of one bedroom with a queen size bed, fully equipped kitchen, compact but complete bathroom including a washing machine and dryer and a cosy living area with gas log fire. Upstairs is a large loft space with a double bed and single bed with full height trundle. Outside is a small barbeque area . Additional people are charged at the rate of $30 per person per night.
Most guests do not want to know, but in case you do, limited WiFi is available.
We provide all bed linen and bedding, towels, tea towels, dish washing supplies, toilet paper, shower gel and hand wash.
We also provide breakfast cereal, bread, milk, butter, eggs and bacon, home made jams and fresh fruit as well as basic necessities such as coffee Nespresso , tea, sugar, salt, pepper etc. If you can't be bothered cooking, we recommend visiting one of the cafes or the bakery in the Village and enjoying a care free delicious breakfast.
Other meals can be provided by arrangement. For instance, if you arrive fresh from the city or airport on a Friday evening feeling too tired to prepare your own meal and don't want to eat out, we can provide a tasty casserole style meal to help you on the road to relaxation. Simply give us sufficient advance warning to get it prepared.
Your hosts, Sue and Bob will do their best to ensure a comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable stay.
On perfect sunny days guests are invited to enjoy the whole 10 acres and wander at leisure. Under the rainforest canopy on the property's perimeter are steep slopes and fallen trees home to countless small creatures. In cleared places you can find a sunny spot to read a book or admire the view, or simply stroll in the orchard to pick some fruit from the perpetually fruiting trees.
If the weather is wet and cold however, ClareVilla is the ideal place to curl up in front of the fire with a good book and a glass of wine. Take advantage of the opportunity to kick back and relax at a level not possible at home or in the hurly burly of the city.
For something more energetic and close to home there are countless ways to spend your time. Horse riding, kayaking on the Kangaroo River or venturing into the 1700km square Morton National Park with its countless walking tracks and places of beauty are just a few.
At night you might take a torch and go looking for wombats. They will come close to the Villa and can be heard munching on grass or burrowing to find more deeply hidden morsels. Sometimes in the morning the landscape may be noticeably rearranged where they have decided to establish a new home with little regard for man-made obstacles of bricks and mortar.
Kangaroo Valley Village is located about 8kms north of the property on Moss Vale Road. We recommend taking a leisurely stroll through the village to investigate the specialty shops and cafes, enjoying a beer at The Friendly Inn or visiting the Pioneer Museum on the western side of the Hampden Bridge.
Further afield is the bustling town of Berry. Whichever way you choose to drive to Berry you will be rewarded with breathtaking views, especially via the Cambewarra Mountain lookout. From there you can see to Jervis Bay and the distant town of Nowra on the Shoalhaven river where it comes down to meet the sea.
It is worth noting that although we are worlds away from anywhere we are physically only about 40 minutes from the pristine sands of Seven Mile Beach. 90 minutes away the crystal clear waters and 'whitest sand in the world 'await you in the Booderee National Park in Jervis Bay.
