Cabbage Tree Farm is, literally, at the end of the road. It is located just above the Yarrawa Estate Winery, providing the chance for a Saturday afternoon walk down the road for wine tasting with Mark and Sue Foster.

The house has an enormous deck with outdoor lounges, a table for lunching or dining and a barbecue. While one can sit on the deck and enjoy the views of the surrounding rainforest. The 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house also has the city comforts of Wifi, television, telephone and modern kitchen complete with Nespresso coffee machine.

For the more adventurous this large property 19 hectares or 48 acres provides the opportunity for serious bush-walking up towards the escarpment - the site of bullock tracks from more than 100 years ago used to bring out the precious red Cedar trees - a magnificent sample of which still stands off to the right from the deck. Some of the rainforest plants and ferns one finds look as if they have been untouched for centuries.

Alternatively, one can walk or cycle down to the winery then further down Upper River Road, past the Kangaroo Valley community hall and working dairy farms into the charming little village of Kangaroo Valley.

In terms of serenity, seclusion and tranquillity, this property is unbeatable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Remote Location We have stayed here a number of times with our dog and have loved it every time. The house is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The remote location and lack of mobile coverage is great for those wanting to get away from it all. The scenery is stunning and the deck is one of the house's best features. An added bonus is the Cellar door within walking distance. Will definitely be back!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Comfortable. clean, beautiful view The house was comfortable but certainly a few things needing attention. The showers although two the water in the main shower was not very hot. Both bathroom floors were continually wet as there must be leaks from the shower. The bedroom blinds were virtually impossible to lower. In the main bedroom you couldn't even move without the bed making a loud noise. The kitchen tap felt like it was about to break off. Great to have a washing machine but no airer to hang things on, I gather the rope was to hang up somewhere but not very user friendly. No dvd player(although luckily we checked and we were given one by the agent,) and a super small TV. Kitchen was good, Lounge was comfortable. Outdoor deck area great, Plenty of firewood

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peace and quiet A great place to see in the New Year. Sitting on the verandah enjoying the environment was so relaxing in this secluded location. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, although overall cleanliness of the property could be improved. A short walk down to the local cellar door is strongly recommended.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful, but very remote!!! The scenery is absolutely beautiful. The sound of nature in the morning and the views up the mountain are breath taking. We booked all three rooms and were quite comfortable and Loved that we could take our Dog with us on a weekend away. Most things are available including basic kitchen/cooking utensils, washing machine, fridge/freezer, BBQ, lamps, lounge (comfortable for 3 people), and dining room table. The kitchen and bathrooms (two toilets & two showers) are clean and there are outside lights on sensors if you arrive after dark. Though there are few things to note, firstly it is a 5 min (and 2 sec) drive down a mostly gravel path from Upper KV Road to the parking area at the house (a 4wd makes things easier & no low cars). There is no mobile reception, however there is wifi. It was warm when we were there and the house has no air con or fans, but most of the windows open (with fly screens) and the breeze is wonderful. There is a decent fire place for the colder months, and the fire wood is there providing a strong smell of fresh wood in the house. It is out in the Bush, so there are lots of animals around starting with Wombats (we were very mindful of this having our Dog with us) and including lots of bugs/spiders. It was a bit dusty so I was glad I took thongs to wear inside and shoes for outside. We are very much a city family and this is as close as we get to camping but overall we enjoyed our stay and had a relaxing weekend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Standard Avocado The place way only okay. All the outdoor area and furniture was covered in animal droppings so we couldn't sit outside and make the most of the view. I didn't pay all that money to clean on my weekend away. No mobile reception at all. Very standard. Nothing to rave about. Chimney needs a good sweep out.
