With nine beaches in the local Kiama area, you will be spoilt for choice:
Surf Beach is in the centre of town on Manning Street. It has a great park with covered seating areas and BBQs. You will get some of the best body surfing in the region here.
Jones Beach, off North Kiama Drive, Kiama Downs, is patrolled by the local surf life saving club at the north end.
Bombo Beach off Riverside Drive, Bombo, is more for the advanced board surfer and is patrolled at the north end during the summer months.
Kendalls Beach, off Bonaira Street, Kiama. Known for its small surf and protected beach Kendalls offers a great place for families to come and swim. Kendalls also has barbecues along with a play set and grassy areas for the young ones.
Easts Beach is a large quiet beach and great place for children with long small sets of waves.
Werri Beach is Gerringong's beach on Pacific Avenue, Gerringong. Get in some great board or body surfing here, with boards mostly at the North End and bodysurfers down the south where there are patrols during the summer. There are also a copule of great rock pools at the south end.
Seven Mile Beach is Gerroa's beach and is home to some of Australia's surfing greats Sally Fitzgibbon and Dean Bowen. On Crooked River Road, you have the river and the beach to play with. Possibly the safest surfing beach in the area, the natural scenic beach stretches down to Shoalhaven Heads in the south. Renowned for its safe surf it is used by a number of the local surf schools.
