Things to do
Lake Tabourie has the perfect swimming and surfing conditions. Near the island the sea is generally calm and ideal for young children and snorkeling. As you progress north along Wairo beach and south along Meroo beaches the surf gradually builds offering consistent and well known surf breaks. The entire foreshore is national park, with no beach development offering spectacular views of unspoilt coastline.
At low tide you can walk across to Crampton island and explore. There are excellent views back to Pidgen House Mountain. If you need a break form the beach and like bushwalking, Pidgen House Mountain is just 15 minutes drive from Lake Tabourie and makes a great day walk.
