The location: "Adam and Eve lost it - we found it", ad for Manyana, The Daily Mirror, 18 October 1960.
Manyana is still an undeveloped, charming quiet village on the South Coast. It offers beach holidays the way you remember them. Manyana is surrounded by two long surf beaches, a tidal lake, and a third flat-water beach good for kids, all backed by undisturbed Australian bushland. Also walking distance is a small island close to shore Green Island, which is a famous surf spot on its exposed side, and offers great snorkeling on the sheltered side and all around the island when the surf is flat. Discover tide pools, make sandcastles, kayak in the lake, windsurf, or just relax out of the wind with so many beaches to choose, one will offer what you want at any given time.
For essential food supplies and paddle pops, drive 2 minutes to Bendalong shop, where you can also sit down for a quiet coffee, pizza or fish & chips at the relaxing cafe. Further afield 30 min is Milton also boasting cafes, a large supermarket, antique shops, restaurants, markets, and bric-a-brac boutiques. Walkers may prefer a climb up Pigeon House Mountain, or in the other nature reserves and national parks which are nearby. For the occasional rainy day, there are wineries, an air force museum, and swim centre, all within 45 minutes drive.
Manyana is three hours easy drive from both Sydney and Canberra.
