This large and luxurious (executive) five bedroom property is ten minutes walk from Bar Beach and Spencer Beach (best family beaches) and Short Point (best surf beach) and a similar distance from Woolworths and all other major amenities.

Merimbula boasts an impressive range of restaurants, clubs and coffee shops including family favourites: McDonalds and Subway. Please note that the property is situated in a quiet residential area and as such any undue noise between the hours of 10 pm and 7am would not be acceptable. Please bear this in mind before making your booking. I would suggest that it is only suitable for family bookings and most certainly not " boys on tour" .

Adult only bookings are not acceptable.

The property is only a 10 minute drive from the airport and both local golf courses and 5 minutes drive from "Magic Mountain" - Merimbula's famous family theme park.

The house will provide accommodation for ten via a queen sized double bed,a standard double bed, two sets of large single bunk beds and a king single bed with pull out trundle bed. Both top bunk beds have safety rails.

The house has a large balcony overelooking a green belt and Bar Beach (spotting occassional swamp wallabies, sulphur crested cockatoo's and kookaburra's are a firm favourite with small children).

The front garden has a large outdoor entertaining area with two courtyards (seating for two large families) surrounded by rose bushes and sage.

The side and back garden have an outdoor shower and racks for storing surf boards, wet suits and other beach gear. Both the balcony and rear garden area can be enclosed to keep pets safe and happy while owners are away on seaside trips to the beaches and other nearby attractions.

Cwm Rhondda ("Cwm" is Welsh for "cirque") was designed and renovated as a luxurious and convenient large family holiday home. This means that the needs of pets, children, outdoor entertainment and beach gear & activities are all important parts of this large and luxurious family holiday house that will feel like home away from home to all ages from Nan and Pop to the littlest of all the kids.

Cwm Rhondda has all the usual amenities and more.... 26 inch screens keep "IT" kids entertained in the large family kitchen while the designated "holiday chefs" prepare special meals in a kitchen that is fully equipped (gas stove, electric oven, dishwasher, 45 litre microwave oven, 7kg washing machine, 6kg dryer, double door 660 litre fridge freezer, typical small appliances, corning ware dishes, stainless steel pots and pans, etc.) to serve 8 people at the kitchen table and another 4 at the kitchen counter - with a magnificent dining room suite in the dining room providing an elegant setting for those extra special family occassions.

All types of entertainment are available in the area ranging from surfing, kite surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, boogie boarding and swimming at Merimbula's many quality beaches. (On request, we can provide boogie boards and flippers.)

Merimbula is home to many many restaurants, coffee shops, resort boutiques, a cinema, four local clubs, a family theme park and an enormous local wildlife park where animal petting and feeding are part of the fun. Less than half an hour south is Eden, where you will discover the magic of the killer whales that helped the pioneers catch fish and where the Young Endeavour calls into port to remind young and old alike of Australia's maritime history.... A similair distance inland is Bega where Australia's famous Bega Cheese Factory and Museum delight cheese lovers of all ages. For a gardening and outdoor experience quite beyond the ordinairy, Pambula's "the Barn" is an award winning nursery with an enormous treasure trove of antiques, Australian local art, food and wine and a "touch-farm" where children can choose to ride ponies or camels(!!) while parents enjoy memorable coffees and scrumptious gourmet lunches and light meals.

Our part of the world is also home to many famous and spectacular national parks - two exquisite waterfall day trips and lots and lots of short and medium walks / hikes reveal the extraodinairy beauty of one of Australia's best kept secrets.... the South Coast.

Boat trips, whale watching and all sorts of fishing - beach, rock, leisure and sport fishing are all on offer in Merimbula. Check out the Meimbula wharf and Mitchies Jetty for all the latest activities.

For an additional charge of $120 we provide linen with all the beds made up before you arrive; and only request that you bring your own towels and beach towels. (On request, we may be able to assist with towels.)

For an optional cleaning charge of $150, you can end your holiday stay with a smooth departure free of any cleaning chores.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A most enjoyable and peacefull stay in a location not too far from anywhere. Great house for a large family wanting to relax and get to all attractions easily. Will be returning in the future. Happy large family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cwm Rhondda was a lovely holiday house, with plenty of room for our large group. We stayed there with our teenage daughter, a sister and her partner, and another sister with her three teenagers. We had a fabulous time in a place that was a welcoming family home. We felt completely at ease there. What a change from the usual holiday accommodation. The house was clean and spacious, with plenty of room for all of us. It felt like a home away from home! One of the things we enjoyed the most was being able to 'use' the house. We didn't feel as though there was a 'hands-off' policy. There were a couple of minor problems (a stuck window and broken towel rail) which the owners (who were most welcoming) warned us about, but nothing significant. The kids enjoyed the fishing and we enjoyed cooking their catches in the huge, functional kitchen. We bought take-away a couple of times, but with so many mouths to feed, it was great to be able to cook for ourselves and to have everything you need to hand.We disagree with the comment that the owners required the place to be professionally cleaned on departure. When we left, we cleaned the house as we clean our own, and this was all that was needed to ensure the return of our bond.In short, we had a wonderful time at Cwm Rhondda. We enjoyed the house, especially the wildlife. The kids hand-fed seed and pieces of fruit to the colourful parrots while we sat and relaxed and listened to the bellbirds on the verandahs. It was fun watching the possums in the evening and the little lizards during the day. We loved the beaches and exploring the local area. It was great to be able to really unwind in comfort.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from We wouldn't recomend this property at all because:~ the owners were there almost every day, this was their own home which they rent out in holiday periods, so they call in to pick things up all the time.~ the fixtures and fittings of the home are very old and we feel the owners blamed us for things breaking when they never worked in the first place~ the owners expected the property to be professionally cleaned when vacating. It was cleaned to the standard normally required.
