OCEAN FRONT BEACH HOUSE
The Palms is a light and breezy beach house located on the front row of Mystery Bay. This unique unspoilt area, with its crystal clear waters and sheltered bays and rock pools is surrounded by National Park. Nestled between the bush and the sea, it offers the best of both worlds and is the perfect spot to dive into any number of activities from snorkelling and bush-walking to bird-watching or fishing and cycling and countless others – or not. Why not just kick back and relax to the sound of the waves, and the sun dancing on the water.
The Palms beach house is one of only a handful of homes right on the front row of Mystery Bay. It is flooded with sunlight and has an easy relaxing feel. It has 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms - the main bathroom has a toilet and shower, the second has a toilet. There is also a hot-water outdoor shower. The main bedroom has a queen bed and overlooks the water through a tree-framed vista. The second bedroom also has a queen bed, and the third has 2 single beds and a timber-framed double bunk. The house accommodates up to 8 people - 4 adults and 4 kids. The kitchen is well-equipped with a bar-style counter for easy entertaining and flows out to the front deck where you can watch the yachts and whales go by.
Spring is here - the days are warming and we're glimpsing the first of the whales heading south with their calves.
Guests have the entire house to themselves which includes a secure back garden for your pets, and a hot-water outdoor shower to spray off the sand and salt after the beach. There's also a washing machine and dryer, a BBQ and a wood-fire heater. A stroll across the park opposite brings you to the beach, or to the Rotunda picnic area and lookout, a great spot to see the whales up close.
What's special about holidaying at Mystery Bay on the beautiful Nature Coast? Being so close to the beach and ocean, and surrounded by National Park and quaint villages provides so much to see and do:
+ See echidnas meandering by, or swamp wallabies grazing;
+ Watch humpback whales from the deck breaching and frolicking as they migrate north
from June, returning with their calves from September;
+ Take a day trip to Montague Island for fishing and sight-seeing;
+ Shutter-bugs - everywhere's a picture, and there's plenty for "twitchers" too;
+ Golf anyone? 18-hole Narooma Golf course is renowned for its views;
+ Cycle the many bike paths throughout the Shire;
+ Water-ski on Corunna lake;
+ Enjoy a coffee and stroll around colourful heritage-listed Central Tilba;
+ Or, simply stroll, splash or relax at the many lovely sheltered bays and rock-pools
right here on the beach and watch the sea eagles soar overhead.
