Shoalhaven Heads is a really lovely, quiet and undiscovered part of the south coast, less than two hours drive from Sydney.
Perfect for a weekend get-away after a long week, or take a week off ... there is so much you can do within walking distance, or within a 10 minute drive. Enjoy the peace and quiet or venture out and see what the local area has in store.
The house is an original coastal home incorporating modern renovations that include a new kitchen and dining area. There is a large deck for outside entertainment and a cosy lounge with a convection fire if its colder, perhaps in winter.
There are three bedrooms in total, two with queen beds, one with an en-suite and walk-in wardrobe, and the third bedroom is set up for family accommodation, so up to four children can sleep in this room. It has a bunk, a trundle and a single bed. There are two bathrooms, one with a nice large bath.
Linen is not provided but bath towels are an optional extra if you would like to use ours. Please bring your own beach towels. Please bear in mind that we do not allow smoking in the house and we ask that you inform the owner if you would like to bring your pets.
What to do here
There is a lot on offer in Shoalhaven Heads itself and the local area.
Firstly, the Shoalhaven and Coolangatta areas are becoming very well known now for the boutique wineries and there are many specialty shops, gallerys and restaurants in Berry, Gerringong and Gerroa. Berry is a 10 minute drive away.
If you just want to swim and walk it's a perfect choice. Seven Mile Beach National Park is a short walk away and the beach is long and quite spectacular. There are dog friendly zones as well. You can surf, swim, windsurf.
You can really escape and find your own privacy at the house, or choose to go into the villages and explore.... it's up to you!
The Shoalhaven Heads village itself has a fabulous riverside pub with glorious views of the river. On Saturday mornings you can stroll up to the fruit and veg market and buy locally caught fish too. The river is less than 100 metres away, where there is a wharf for swimming and fishing. If you want to launch your boat, there are a few local boat ramps very close by. There is a local public swimming pool too.
Golf enthusiasts have so many beautiful coastal golf courses to choose from - there is the Shoalhaven Heads Club, Coolangatta and Gerroa.
