This newly built, stunning, executive home with magnificent views over Barlings Beach will be available for rental from December 2018.
Location, location, location. The house is directly behind Barlings Beach and is beside a park. There are 270 degree views from the lounge and large deck extending from the East end of Barlings beach, past Melville point and Tomaga inlet and around to the mountains to the West. There is no road between the house and the beach – just the dunes. Walk 50 – 100 metres to both Barlings Beach and Tomago Cove and from there on to Tomaga Beach and River mouth.
The house itself is set in landscaped gardens and is exceptionally well appointed with many luxurious touches.
The home boasts 4 generous bedrooms each with a king bed. Two of the king beds split to become long singles if required. These rooms share a well appointed bathroom while the other two each have ensuites.
The master suite is upstairs and has a large balcony with views along Barlings Beach. The ensuite features a 2 metre bath, heated floor and towel rail and a state of the art shower where you can enjoy a water jet back massage while under the rain shower.
Also upstairs are the lounge, kitchen and dining areas and large decks to both the north and south. The kitchen boasts a 5 metre long timber bench top, coffee machine and AEG appliances including a blue tooth connected induction cooktop and angled black glass range hood. There are 6 barstools along the bench meaning that the kitchen can be the centre of conversation and cooking if that is what you enjoy.
The large timber dining table more than comfortably seats 8 and can fit 10. The lounge area also comfortably seats this number as does the large deck which overlooks Barlings Beach. There is not much more enjoyable than sitting in the afternoon sun, enjoying a glass of wine watching the waves and the pelicans fly by. In the right season you can see whales from the deck.
If the wind is up it doesn’t matter: sit on the north deck in the afternoon sun and watch the sun set over the mountains.
Sick of those decks? Why not enjoy woodfired pizzas in the north facing protected courtyard; look up at the stars while enjoying the 6 person spa or perhaps listen to the waves as you have a chat around the fire pit.
And if it happens to be raining? No problem. There is a large media room downstairs which features a large screen television and surround sound. There is a Sonos sound system also available upstairs, a DVD player and selection of DVDs and a range of board games for you to enjoy.
If you can bear to leave the house, Tomakin is an ideal place to enjoy the outdoors. Local surfers enjoy both Barlings and Tomaga beaches while Tomaga Cove is very sheltered and a great place for young children. You can fish off the beach or, if you have a boat, put it in at the Tomaga River boat ramp. The area is well suited to paddle boarding, kite surfing and kayaking. There is good diving and snorkelling around the headlands. Cyclists enjoy the state forest located behind Tomakin. Walking, ofcourse, is a given. There are kilometres of beach for you to enjoy: interesting rock pools at the East end of Barlings Beach, the beaches themselves and the river front. If you have been out in the sand there’s a hot and cold outdoor shower for you to rinse off the sand.
Tomakin is well known by dog lovers. Barlings Beach allows dogs 24 hours a day in the cooler months and over summer has shared access arrangements. Dogs aren’t allowed at Tomaga Cove but can enjoy 24 hours off leash access at Tomaga beach and river front.
Well behaved, quiet dogs and their properly trained parents are able to enjoy this property by arrangement. If you would like to bring your dog it must know that it isn’t allowed on the furniture, in the spa or water garden. It mustn’t dig holes, scratch at doors or race around on the wooden floors. If that is your dog – by all means – talk to us. We are serious dog lovers and understand how lovely it is to be able to have your fur baby on holiday with you. These same rules apply to children
Once you’ve arrived you don’t have to venture far away unless you want to. There is a well stocked IGA just out on the highway and also fresh seafood sold from a van near the service station. If you want to do a bigger shop head in to Bateman’s Bay or Moruya – both around 15minutes drive. You can enjoy breakfast, lunch or a coffee at the local café. There is a great club at Tomakin and Smokey Dan’s, located next the the IGA, does excellent meals featuring a range of smoked meats and produce and has relaxed live music in the afternoons on Sunday.
Attractions nearby include the acclaimed Mogo Zoo, boutique village style shopping and eateries at Mogo, Saturday morning markets at Moruya and much, much more.
