Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unsuitable - Even for our Dog Where to start!!!! From the very beginning, even retrieving the information from the Managers of the Property was like pulling teeth. (Terrible English). This was advertised as “Newly refurbished”…what a joke! Our version..... Twenty minutes on the phone just trying to determine what was in the room. Original enquiry of does it have a bath? (yes, we have Foxtel). Does it have an open fire place? (yes, but it doesn’t work). Is there other heating? (yes) Is it pet friendly? (yes) After much angst my partner then booked the accommodation as a birthday gift to myself. He had given me a few options, although silly me, I choose this one as it sounded like what we were looking for. After immediate payment, he then asked for the address, he was told it would be sent through to him via a Mobile text Message immediately. This message was never received, and we then had to call twice to finally retrieve the information, which we finally received about two kilometres out of Robertson. We arrive in the night after driving around for over an hour trying to locate the address (which is NOT sign marked in ANY way). By this time it has reached a lovely 1 degrees in temperature and we are keen to get in and get the heat going for our relaxing two night stay. First impression upon our arrival at the bottom of the verandah, we see a filthy overflowing ashtray, cigarette packets and beer bottles on the ground outside our getaway. We are both smokers and yet this was not a great first impression of the place. We get inside and there are three types of heating, an open fire (which we finally were made aware of not working), a gas heater and an air conditioner. My partner automatically goes for the gas heater. Another 10 minutes trying to start it, he goes outside, checks the bottles....no gas. In the meantime I had located a control and finally realised it was for the Air conditioner, yet we were unable to get it to work. I had remained calm up until now, although I was freezing we had been fighting due to locating the property, to getting in and now there were no instructions on heating. Finally…I get involved. I telephoned the Manager to seek advice on the heating. I had to make someone come onsite to try to fix. Cutting it short, we did not stay for our two nights; we left and found emergency accommodation. In a nutshell: • Terrible Communication • Terrible Customer Service • Unacceptable Accommodation I was finally able to retrieve the number of the actual property owner; I wished to advise him of some feedback for his property. He did not seem reluctant at all to accept the feedback, and offered a refund, in which he requested that we email our bank account details to him……still waiting three months later. In response to how they advertise the property: • NOT newly Refurbished • Nearly hundred year gardens are well and truly NOT maintained • NOT refreshed and renewed, more stressed than before (may as well go back to work) • Balcony and outdoor sitting area was riddled with rubbish • Solitary…yes, so much you cannot even find the place • No bath • Car parking minimal We WOULD NOT recommend this accommodation to anyone! It was advertised as pet friendly (we took our dog), yet it was not even good enough for her.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A disappointing experience My partner and I stayed at this property while we attended a wedding. The property was in an excellent location but we were disappointed with a few aspects of our stay. We did not find out the property address or access details until the morning of our stay, as we were driving there! This was very disconcerting as I am a planner and we were driving not knowing where we were heading. The heater in the room was very effective but it also sounded like an aeroplane was taking off, and shook the walls which meant that we couldn't sleep with it on, so we were quite cold overnight. There is a hole in the floor which a spider lives in, which was right beside the bed. As someone with a serious phobia this was a significant problem. There was no way to cover the hole and nothing available to kill it with. To my surprise I was also greeted by mr spiders wife in the shower the next morning! We didn't book the room for the TV but it wasn't functional. There was no antenna connected so no normal channels, there was a Foxtel box but the owner has not paid for their subscription. So there was a TV which couldn't be used. If we had paid $100 or less for our stay I would have little complaint. But for the price of the room I did not feel as though we got our money's worth. It was a safe roof over our head for the night, but not quite the luxurious night away we were hoping for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good location, clean and comfortable accomodation. I stayed in the cottage for 2 nights with 3 small children and found it adequate for our needs. It is small so would only suit a young family or couple. The room and bathroom were nice and the king size bed very comfortable. If you are busy sight seeing all day the cottage is perfect to come back and get a good nights sleep. It is very cold in winter at Robertson and we did find that the air con struggled to keep us warm because of the age of the cottage (beautiful old floor boards) so I would suggest bring bed socks. The Robertson Inn is a great place for a family meal with friendly staff and well priced meals. I would also suggest to try and reverse into the drive way as the shared driveway is a bit small and Hoddle St can be very busy. Would stay again.
