Buses from Darling Street go to the city and Glebe.
The ferry going straight into the City and North Sydney is at the bottom of the street (5 minutes walk at most). Buses leave frequently from Darling Street (main street in Balmain, only 5 minutes walk) and take you into the City. Cab rank also on Darling Street.
