While the stunning beaches of Bronte and Tamarama are very popular they are far smaller and more tranquil than Bondi and Coogee beaches, and that’s something that the locals are proud of. When you visit Bronte it’s easy to see why it has been named Sydney’s most desirable suburb.
Bronte is a gorgeous beach with plenty of space to relax on the sand or take a swim or surf in the ocean. The rips can be strong here and if ocean swimming isn’t your thing then you can always enjoy the protected rock pool on the south side.
Along the south end of Bronte beach is Bronte Road, home to a number of restaurants and cafés and the beach is also hugged by Bronte Park where you’ll often find groups of friends and family having picnics and BBQs. It doesn’t get better than this, allowing you to really live the ultimate beach lifestyle.
Tamarama, affectionately known as Glamarama to the locals due to the beautiful and glamorous nature of many of it’s visitors, is a small and stunning beach just 15 minutes walk from the apartment. This beach is also next to a park with a children’s playground, free public BBQs and a café.
If you want to explore more of this stunning coastline you can head south and take Sydney’s most popular walk onto Coogee, passing the beaches of Clovelly and Gordon’s Bay on the way, both prime locations for a bit of snorkeling, and once arriving into Coogee you can take a well earned rest on the beach or enjoy the local café life for a coffee or bite to eat.
Or if you want to see what makes Bondi such a world famous location you can head north taking the short coastal walk into Bondi or onto Bondi beach to further experience the lifestyle that makes this region, and in particular Bondi, such a world famous location.
Once in Bondi you can experience the energy of this vibrant surfing beach and suburb and if it’s boutique shopping, trendy cafés, restaurants and art galleries then head straight to Hall Street and Curlewis Street which offer everything that you might need. If you’re looking for food and can’t take yourself away from the beach then maybe drop into Icebergs, North Bondi RSL or the Bucket List to get a taste of the locals dishes and a cold beverage while marveling at the stunning ocean views.
At the weekend you can shop at the local Bondi Food Markets every Saturday and the local handmade design/flea Markets every Sunday to further experience the local produce and lifestyle.
No matter the season there is always something happening in Bondi. You might be lucky and get to swim with the dolphins that frequently come into Bondi to play in the surf, see the annual migration of whales in June/July heading North and September/October heading South, be amongst the 10s of thousands who visit daily in the summer months and party on the beach over Christmas or NYE, take part in the annual City to Surf fun run or enjoy the Bondi Winter Festival, gliding around the purpose built ice-rink.
And if you want to head away from the beach then you’re only a 10 minutes bus ride to Bondi Junction - the nearest shopping centre, including the Westfield shopping centre - and a further 20 minutes bus or train ride to Circular Quay where you’ll get to enjoy the sights of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House and everything else that this wonderful city has to offer.
Local bus stop is a five minutes walk away and then you’re only five to 10 minutes away from Bondi Junction - the nearest shopping centre, including the Westfield shopping centre - and a further 20 minutes bus or train ride to Circular Quay, the location of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
You can walk to Brone and Tamarama beaches in 15 minutes and Bondi beach and Bondi Junction in 25 minutes.
There is ample free street parking right outside the apartment too.
