Beautiful hardwood log cabin built in 1932 by famous architect Alexander Jolly. It is the original house in Clareville and whilst it has had several owners over the years and various additions and renovations, the overall structure remains unchanged. The house is set high overlooking the beautiful waters of Pittwater. The highlight of the house is a magnificent, large sandstone fireplace set in a light filled, high ceiling, spacious living room which opens onto a front facing deck and newly landscaped pool area.
The stunning main house has 3 bedrooms, 2 modern bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, compact office and living room. The master bedroom is located on the second level and is very generous in size. The second bedroom overlooking the pool contains a bunk bed and the third bedroom doubles as a play/TV room with a single bed. It has an adjoining modern bathroom/laundry. Sunsets on the deck are stunning and there is a generous front lawn and landscaped, tiered gardens with a vegetable patch and trampoline for children.
Our 2nd dwelling "Log Cabin by the Sea" see extensive reviews on air bnb is a 2 bedroom loft, modern cabin which enjoys the best views on the property. It has been set up to accomodate both short and long stays for individuals, couples or families up to 5 and has everything one could want for. In particular it has been meticulously designed to accomodate very small children with safety gates on all staircases. It has its own private deck and bbq too, with retractable awning to shelter from the NW sun in summer. Both residences have outdoor showers for washing off after the beach or pool. As the property has two dwellings - the main house and the cottage, guests will have the choice of either parking in the lower, street level secured garage or utilising the driveway which provides direct access to both dwellings. If using the lower, street level garage, one then enters the property via a large sandstone staircase. Direct guest access to the cottage is via the driveway. There is an alcove at the top of the driveway so that if 2-3 cars are needing space, this can be accommodated.
Children are very welcome to utilise our children's toys and games and any beach equipment boards etc. We just ask that this is looked after, respectfully and any beach equipment hosed down afterwards. 2 adults bikes and 2 children's bikes may be used as well.
The residence is across the road from Pittwater and is a short, easy 7 minute stroll to nearby Clareville beach reserve and a 25 minute walk into Avalon shopping village. We also have a small, local group of shops with a lovely cafe, fantastic cellar and Indian and Greek takeaway.
