Dangar Island is located a quick one hour drive from Sydney CBD. Trains run at least hourly from central to the Hawkesbury River train station.
Located one minute by water from the mainland. Transport to island can be by water taxi or hourly ferry service. Most guests come by water taxi. The water taxi drops you at the door and is very reasonably priced. If coming by car park in Brooklyn.
What to do on Dangar
The River Postman boat cruises along the Hawkesbury River run from Brooklyn regularly. Kayak tours and hire from Brooklyn. Fishing of the pontoon is popular with guests. Basic fishing rods provided.
The island has a café which is open daily and located on the water. It has artwork and jewellery designed by local talented artists.
The bowling club restaurant is open Thursday evening, Friday evening, Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch. The first Friday of every month is open mic night and is very popular with the locals and wider river communities.
Dangar island is full of wildlife and nature. Many variety of birds and occasionally dolphins and turtles can be spotted. Enjoy a pleasant stroll or jog around the island and along Bradleys Beach. Just across the water from Dangar is Brooklyn. It has lots of nice restaurants and art and crafts shops.
Simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the enchanting Dangar Island and the coastal ambience of the Hamptons Shack Boathouse. The most common feedback we have had so far is 'We will definitely be back'

Let us know when you are arriving so we can organise the platter and champagne to be left in the boatshed for your arrival. This can be ordered during your stay as well.
Winter bookings from June 1st: The boatshed is well insulated and heating is provided. Beds have electric blankets, extra rugs and throws are provided. Watch the sun go down from the hot tub on colder days followed by a complimentary port to end your day.
SPA TUB with water views. Just let the owner know when you would like to use the tub as it is located on a private area just up the stairs on the main property.
The loft area has a double bed and a king single. The 4th bed is the day bed downstairs.

Dogs allowed. We love dogs Dog bed for small to medium dog is provided and dog bowl. It is an enclosed area and difficult for dogs to escape.
Note a laundry facility can be made available for bookings of 4 days or longer.
Price is based on 2 guests. An extra $15 per guest applies for more than 2 guests per night.
