Freshwater is reknown for its friendly village atmosphere, with cafes, supermarket, fresh growers market and newsagent all within easy walking distance. Freshwater also boasts one of Sydney's best restaurants, the two-hatted Pilu at Freshwater located on the southern end of Freshwater overlooking the beach. Close by Dee Why and Manly offer great restaurants, cafes and gelato bars.
Seafoam is also located only 10 minutes walk away from South Curl Curl Beach and rockpool with a great shallow area for young children to play, in addition to the 50 metre swimming area. The South Curl Curl Cafe boasts one of the best cafe locations of Sydney's beaches.
Local parks are located around the corner (2 mins walk) at Jacka and Cooksey Parks, with another park located at Freshwater Beach. Parks are also located at Queenscliff (Southern end of Manly Beach) and along the Manly Beachfront.
If you want to travel further afield, Freshwater is a great base to explore Sydney's stunning Northern Beaches with over 17 beaches from Manly to Palm Beach with many great day trips on offer. Getting around Freshwater
Freshwater has many transport options.
Manly - Walk to Manly in 15 mins over the headland or catch the 139 or 136 from around the corner.
City - Express Bus E65 departs around the corner in peak hour. Alternatively catch the famous Manly Ferry.
Warringah Mall - one of the largest shopping precincts in Sydney with hundreds of shops including large department stores. Catch the 139 there for the 15 minute trip.
Taxis are also easily accessed.
