Public transport is at the door. Peak hour Express buses to and from the city run every 7-10 minutes. A frequent bus service runs from 6am to after midnight to and from Manly, and connects with ferries to the city. The same frequent bus service goes to Warringah Mall if you need heavy duty retail therapy in the many major chain stores.
Enjoy it as the locals do and understand why they jealously guard this gem of a beach and village
Very close to Freshwater beach, the ocean pool and the headland, you will find Duke's at Freshie is very conveniently located. Everything is in easy, level (well almost level) walking distance for adults and children. 2 mins walk to the beach or to peaceful Harbord village. The same 2 minutes to the iconic Harbord "Hilton" pub or the well known "Harbord Diggers" club and gyms. 2 minutes to coffee shops, restaurants, fine dining (Pilu) small bars, Growers Market, IGA, Liquor store and village shops. The village hums along nicely from early each day until round midnight and has every service and outlet you should need.
Despite being only 1.5 km round the headland from northern Manly, Freshwater beach and village remains one of Sydney's less-discovered gems. It is the birthplace of Australian surfing where Hawaii's Duke Kahanomoku demonstrated board-riding to the locals on 23 December 1914. Duke's board remains in the Freshwater surf club. You guessed it - 2 minutes walk !
Freshwater is acknowledged as a very safe children's beach.
We are a very laid back outdoor environment. Freshwater and the beach have a youthful energetic orientation towards quality of life for residents and visitors. The focus is on couples and families and guests enjoying every day in this fabulous place. There are no big chain hotels and no backpacker lodges. Guests are asked to behave in keeping with this youthful vibrant environment.
There is no smoking inside the apartment but as pictures show, there is ample room on the balcony beyond the bifold doors.
Regrettably no pets. Wet, sandy, salty dogs just don't go with carpet I'm sad to say.
