A cute, cosy and comfortable little beach house nestled in nature at Great Mackerel Beach on Pittwater near Sydney.
There's a slow combustion heater, a complete yet basic kitchen and a fantastic bedroom we refer to as 'the honeymoon suite. Enjoy the yoga/ meditation room out back overlooking the creek it's a re-purposed historic jetty shed. There are wallabies, ducks, birds and the neighbours chickens. The beach is a 2-minute walk away.
‘A step back in time’, there’s no internet or TV. Even the radio reception is patchy and we currently have no hot water in the kitchen it’s good old fashioned ‘boil the kettle to do the dishes’.
Instead of excessive mod cons, the home features a huge variety of books, cd’s, boardgames and areas to sit, relax and recover from the fast-paced world that surrounds this idyllic getaway.
Phone reception can be patchy at the house, but is very good at the beach and on the jetty.
A few details to help make your stay more comfortable a full guide will be emailed upon booking.
Tank water is in use. It’s safe to drink and tastes great, but please conserve water and limit showers to 3 to 4 minutes. There’s currently no washing machine on site due to ongoing water shortages.
The night toilet in the front house is a waterless EnviroLoo for urine only at this stage . There is a full flush toilet in the back cabin accessed via a covered deck. Please note the bathroom floor needs tiling - this will be completed soon.
Wildlife abounds literally You’ll see plenty of wallabies, particularly at night. The wallabies do have a habit of pooing on the front and rear decks at night - it’s organic. During the night and early morning you may hear possums on the roof - we hope they don’t disturb you too much.
While here we’d love you to enjoy the peace and serenity of this unique region - so close to Sydney but so far away.
