DISCOVER YOUR OWN PRIVATE HIDEAWAY

Ideal for couples or families looking for a unique experience to rest and relax among nature

Riverview Nature Retreat enjoys a private elevated position in amongst 6 acres of natural bushland overlooking the majestic Hawkesbury River and picturesque valley below. There is private shared access to the river for picnicking and a concrete boat ramp for convenient access for waterskiing, jet skiing, fishing, kayaking or exploring the waterways. This part of the Hawkesbury is wide and enjoys lots of boating and other watersport activity which is wonderful to watch by the river or from the property’s vantage point. The river is an easy stroll through the picturesque country road, be sure to say hello to the horses, or a quick drive if you’re carrying equipment or a picnic hamper.

CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE CITY BUT MILES AWAY FROM CARE

Easy 90 minute drive from the centre of Sydney

Riverview Nature Retreat is a peaceful red-cedar cabin tucked away off Greens Road, Lower Portland which can be accessed in two ways - via Windsor no ferry crossing – around 40 minutes from Windsor or Wiseman’s Ferry ferry crossing at Webbs Creek- around 15 minutes after crossing.

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE AMONG NATURE

Enjoy spending time together reconnecting with your partner, family or friends

The double storey cabin is inviting, cute and cosy. There are French doors leading into the open-plan living room as well as the separate dining room. The timber and stone kitchen is typically country as is the bathroom. There is a slow combustion fire place in the living room for those chilly nights.

There are two generously sized bedrooms upstairs. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and a private sitting area. The twin bedroom is furnished with two double beds. Both bedrooms have their own reverse cycle air-conditioning units and ceiling fans for summer and winter comfort.

There is an outdoor entertaining area equipped with a Weber BBQ and outdoor seating to enjoy alfresco dining while watching the boats, skiers and kayakers go by. In winter, there is an outdoor fire-pit to gather round story-telling or roasting marshmallows. The outdoor area around the cabin is fenced to keep toddlers and pets in check yes, we are pet friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Second time I've stayed, won't be the last I've now stayed twice, seeking the comforting solitude of endless time by the fireplace (indoors and out), days spent cooking in the very well equipped kitchen and over the fire pit outside, and mornings woken up by cockatoos and wildlife in the area. Just outside mobile range, it really is such a comfortable place to feel relaxed and a tad detached from the daily grind. Maria has been exceptional in both stays making sure everything was in its place and ensuring I was fully accommodated. Can't say enough - enjoy your stay!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from secluded hideaway cabin this property will give you the proper cabin-stay experience with its wonderful secluded location. be ready to feel handy and resourceful using a water tank and gathering your own firewood during the colder seasons. you'll definitely feel like you're part of nature as birds call out in the morning and wooden floorboards creek regularly as the house settles. loved having a ton of privacy on this property. furnishings have seen a lot of usage due to the property's popularity however they are still comfortable for the stay. spend the evenings by the fire with a good bottle of red (or several) and a warm hearty roast playing chess or cards and you're in for a great night. perhaps not as much of a river view from the property as the name suggests and the bathroom being located on the ground floor is a bit inconvenient but for a short weekend stay, this was a lovely little getaway.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing and Peaceful! Beautiful cottage with very peaceful surroundings. The cottage is very clean and warming, I would recommend this property to anyone who is wanting to escape the city to recharge their batteries. A stay at Riverview would be suitable for both couples and families.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tidy and remote cottage. The cottage is clean and tidy. Located on a well timbered hill side there is a view to the river. All needs for a traveler are met and the seclusion is absolute. River has limited access and by car to save walk back up hill but could launch boat from river side site you share with adjacent properties. No good swimming as March river muddy and speed boat activity weekends. Two story structure with BR up stairs work and best feature for comfort - ceiling fans most rooms. Lounge dark in summer but combustion burner would keep warm winter. BBQ effective. Quality furnishings are rustic and adequate but not luxurious compared with city accommodation. This is not a fault but practical for site. TV and its 3 dishes give adequate cover but hard to operate with so many buttons. No dishwasher but good kitchen space. Tricky coming down stairs in the night as needs just a tiny more ballastrading to give guidance. Air con effective and separate dining area good if out doors harsh. No mobile phone possible or 4G Telstra remote for WiFi. Is a problem if you need contact or have work requirements for a longer stay.
