Newly renovated cottage with access to 12m resort-style pool. 8 mins to beaches and 30/40min drive to Manly/City. Magnificent ocean views. We would love to welcome you as a guest.

We are situated atop an escarpment, overlooking the ocean with spectacular ocean views from all rooms. The surrounding area is quiet, secluded and semi-rural. The location is truly unbelievable and only minutes from everything that the northern beaches of Sydney has to offer. It is without the hustle and bustle of staying in the city itself with central Sydney only 40 minutes away by car or 45 minutes by bus.

The two bedrooms sleep up to 7 adults not including children with additional bedding each opening out to the deck and ocean views. Access to the bedrooms is via the deck. The bed configuration is as follows:

Bedroom1: 1 queen + 1 single + 1 double sofabed

Bedroom2: 1 double

The cottage is approx 50 metres from the main house on the property. The main house will normally be occupied by the property owners or let to other guests.

Guest Access:

Both bedrooms in the cottage have heating and ceiling fans. Fresh bed linen, bath towels, shampoo, body wash, hand wash and hair dryer are provided for your comfort. Good Wifi broadband is accessible. Netflix is available on both TVs.

We ask that you keep everything tidy and clean. Help yourself to any provisions you may find. Feel free to enjoy water views whilst dining or relaxing on the deck or in the living room. Alternatively, if the weather is good, you might want to enjoy the pool or use the barbeque facilities.

The washing machine, dryer and clothes line are available for your use.

Although we can’t allow smoking inside, you are very welcome to do so outside provided buts are disposed of appropriately.

Getting Around:

We love our locality which is called the Northern Beaches running from Manly in the south to Palm Beach in the north. Its many magnificent sandy beaches are more accessible and less frequented than other beaches in Sydney. The Northern Beaches is separated from greater Sydney by waterways and native bush areas making it a special enclave accessible by road at only three points. The house is located in a quiet and peaceful semi-rural part of the Northern Beaches but with easy access to what greater Sydney has to offer.

Transport is readily accessible from our home:

• The nearest bus stop, at Mona Vale is a 10 minute taxi.

• The nearest ferry wharf, Manly, is less than 30 minutes by car or 40mins by bus.

• The Manly Ferry to the city is a trip that should not be missed in any visit to Sydney.

• Taxis can be booked by phone/online.

• The domestic and international airports are 50 minutes by car or taxi.

Directions to the house:

Coming from the north on the Pacific Highway/A1:

Left into Mona Vale Rd/A3 at Pymble/Gordon

After approx 20 mins:

Left off Mona Vale Rd into Lane Cove Road just after the Bahai Temple.

First right after 500m into Ingleside Road

Then first left after 150m into Boronia Rd

First right after 150m into Laurel Rd West.

We are on the left lower side about 700m down Laurel Rd West.

From the coast Mona Vale same directions but first right into Lane Cove Road at the first set of lights at top of escarpment.

The bin on the top shelf below the kitchen sink is for composting food scraps except meat. Please empty this container in the black compost bin which is located near the back left corner of the property 30 metres away. Our gardens appreciate this.

Please separate recyclable material wherever possible. Bins are to the left of the entrance door.

- Yellow lid: Clean cans, bottles, plastics, paper and cardboard.

- Red lid: General waste.

Please place bins up on the roadside at top of drive - pointed as directed on the lids. Bins to be placed on roadside Wednesday evenings collection early on Thursdays. General waste red bin is every week. Yellow bin is fortnightly - to be advised for each stay.

Washing Machine:

Washing detergent is in the cupboard next to the machine - add half a scoop to the larger detergent drawer.

To start machine:

1. Press power.

2. Select cycle Quick 30 best for most washes.

3. Press start the arrow button}..

N.B. Once started the cycle cannot be interrupted.


We are not on town water and instead rely on rainwater from the roofs to fill our tanks. While we do have plenty at the moment, we kindly ask that you do not waste it. The water is filtered and perfect for drinking. We trust you will enjoy the natural taste - unaffected by sanitation chemicals or treatment.


The guide to the remotes is on the cabinet below the TV.

Netflix is available for your enjoyment.

Garden plots:

- Herbs in the garden plot outside kitchen door - you are welcome to use.

- Rosemary is in a pot in the pool area.

Cottage lights:

There is a two-way switch in the TV room in the house on the far wall bottom switch. This operates the flood light outside the cottage. The paired two-way switch is inside the cottage entrance door.

The lights in the living room are on dimmers. To adjust the brightness hold the light button in until the desired level is achieved.


The pool filter pump operates from 11pm to 7am every night. Pool service will clean the pool once per week. Feel free to use the pool scoop to clean leaves that accumulate between services. N.B. The spa section of the pool does not work as a spa, nor does it have heating connected. It can be used freely as it is filtered.

The hammock bed and sun lounge mattress are in the tv room in the house – can you kindly bring them in at night, so then they will stay dry for you.


Please ensure all doors in the cottage are locked when leaving the cottage vacant.

Waste treatment:

Please do not flush non-food materials, or anything that has not been digested, down toilets or sinks - apart from toilet paper of course. Treatment is through an aerated waste treatment system at the rear of the property.

House rules:

So that we can maintain a quiet and clean environment for everyone to enjoy:

- Please do not wear shoes or take food and drink into the bedrooms.

- Smoking is not permitted inside.

- Please leave everything clean and tidy after use.


- No fires Heavy fines will be imposed by the Fire Authorities and guests will be liable

- No pets on beds or lounge chairs.
