In an article published in the Sydney Morning Herald on 15th December 2016, Haberfield was named as one of the best suburbs for foodies.
The shopping village includes 10 Italian, Thai, French, and Chinese restaurants; 6 cafes, continental cake shops, and gelato shops; 2 freshly-made pasta shops; a traditional Italian woodfired bread shop; continental delicatessens and butchers; greengrocers who sell a range of uncommon fruit and vegetables; a liquor store; and an IGA supermarket.
