Seahorse Cottage is under construction and is now available for bookings from March 2018. Photos will follow in December/January. The new cottage replaces the very popular former Seahorse Cottage. Please scroll down to the paragraph after the 'Outside Space' description, to get more details on how the cottage will look. The main photo also shows the architect's image of how the cottage will look.

BASIC INFORMATION - The cottage features three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and kitchen/living/dining flowing onto a sunny deck and a beautiful frangipani tree. The style of the cottage is cute and 'beachy'. It 's a very cute cottage with a sunny garden area out the front, and has everything you need for a lovely holiday. Guests who stayed at the previous Seahorse Cottage will notice a separate house on the land - this is for my family. Both properties are completely separate, so your privacy is assured. The standard of finishes will be high and the new cottage will have the same light and beachy feel as the former cottage.

LOCATION - Beautiful Freshwater beach is at the end of the road, and the vibrant village is a one minute walk away. Bustling Manly is a picturesque walk over the headland, or a short bus ride away. Freshwater beach is stunning and is the perfect spot for swimming and surfing in the day, or an evening stroll. A pathway takes you down to a 50 metre rock pool and it's free to use which is perfect for lengths or play. Freshwater village has lots of great cafes and restaurants, supermarket, bottle shops, doctors, chemists etc. If you like yummy cakes, try the absolutely delicious ones at 'Mrs Jones The Baker'

PARKING- There is one parking space for the cottage, plus free on street parking if you have more than one car.

BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS- Bedroom one has a queen bed and ensuite bath with shower over, WC, and basin.

Bedroom two has two single beds can be pushed together to form one large bed with ensuite shower, WC, and basin.

Bedroom three has a bunk bed, suitable for adults and children, an ensuite shower, WC, and basin.

Bedrooms 1 and 2 are upstairs, and bedroom 3 is downstairs.

All linen and towels are included, including beach towels.

LIVING, DINING AND KITCHEN - The living area has comfortable sofas, and TV with Foxtel, so lots of films, sport and lifestyle channels to choose from. The dining table seats 6, and there is a fully functioning kitchen with fridge freezer, oven, cook top, microwave, sink and dishwasher. Plenty of pots, pans, plates, mugs, glasses etc.

OUTSIDE SPACE - At the front of the cottage is a pretty enclosed courtyard with seating and a beautiful frangipani tree. The side of the cottage has a washing line.


It's a pretty 2 storey white weatherboard cottage with blue shutters. Inside will be mostly white with some pannelled walls to give it a beachy look. Downstairs has a little bedroom with bunkbeds two singles, suitable for adults and children, carpet in the bedroom, and a small ensuite with underfloor heating. The main living, kitchen, dining area has travertine floors with underfloor heating as it does get cold over the winter months, decorative beams across the ceiling, lots of louvred windows for sunshine and airflow, gorgeous Laura Ashley light fittings giving soft lighting, dining table for 6, TV with tons of choice, and comfortable brand new sofas. The washing machine and dryer are hidden away under the stairs, and there is also an outside line down the side of the cottage. Upstairs has a cupboard full of 'spares' - beach towels, extra towels, spare sheets, shampoo, conditioner etc. The front bedroom has a queen bed, carpet, soft lighting, and a full bathroom shower over bath with underfloor heating. The back bedroom is also carpeted, and has two single beds that can be pushed together if required. The ensuite has a shower, WC, and basin, plus underfloor heating. All the ensuites will be travertine and white tiles with good quality fittings. The front garden is approx 32 sqm and has a beautiful frangipani tree and a range of tropical plants. Down the side of the cottage will be pots with herbs in, for you to get creative in the kitchen. We're hoping to have a covered daybed for lazy afternoon snoozes too. The cottage is not huge, but it'll be perfectly formed. We're aiming to make it as stylish and comfortable as we can, so it'll be a perfect 'home from home'.

FOR CHILDREN - Lots of books, toys and games, cot with bedding, high chair, stair gates, kid's crockery, plates and bowls.

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT - Check in is from 2pm and check out is 10am. If you have a late flight, you will be able to store your luggage with us. If you are arriving on an early flight, we'll do our best to get you in a bit earlier or speak to us about a reduced rate for booking the night before you land, so you can arrive early morning.

INTERNET - There is a wireless internet connection.

GENERAL INFORMATION - Sorry, no large groups of young adults and strictly no parties or functions allowed as the cottage is in a residential area. The cottage is not suitable for schoolies.

There is a bond payable and this is gladly refunded within 4 days of your stay for leaving the cottage in the same condition as the beginning of your stay.

Please note: there are no refunds on cancellations unless the property can be re-let. If it is only re-let for a portion of your stay, or for a lower amount, then a pro-rata refund will apply.

Seahorse Cottage is a no smoking home, both inside and in the garden.

Question - Does the cottage have internet?

Answer - Yes.

Question - Does the cottage have parking?

Answer - There is one parking space at the cottage. If you have more than one car, there is free all-day parking on the street. At peak times of the year it is harder to park, but most of the time I can park either right outside or very close by.

Question - Is there a cot and high chair?

Answer - Yes, plus cot bedding.

Question - How far is the beach?

Answer- About 250 metres down the road. The cottage is between the beach and the village.

Question - Are there shops and restaurants close by?

Answer - Yes, 1 minute walk away. There are lots of cafes and restaurants in close walking distance. For shopping, you can get most things in Freshwater village; there is an IGA supermarket, butcher, chemists, bottle shops, bakeries, newsagents. Manly has Harris Farm and Coles, Balgowlah has Harris Farm and Coles in Stockland plus Woolworths close by in Manly Vale, Dee Why has Coles and Woolworths.

Question - Is there a playground close by?

Answer - Yes, two playgrounds at the beach end of the street.

Question - Can I check-in early/check-out late?

Answer - It depends. The cottage is usually fully booked and we need the hours in between guests vacating and guests arriving to get it clean and sort out any maintenance issues. You can always drop off luggage whilst we're cleaning, or leave luggage for a couple of hours if you are vacating and you have a later flight. Please ask and we'll do our best to help.

Question - Is there air-conditioning?

Answer - No, but there are ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms and the cottage has lots of windows and French doors, which provide a lovely cross-breeze.

Question - Is there heating for winter?

Answer- There's underfloor heating all of downstairs, plus underfloor heating in the bathrooms upstairs, so the cottage is nice and cosy in the winter months.

Question - Do we have to strip the bedding when we leave?

Answer - No, we'll do that.

Question - How do I pay?

Answer - Either Stayz online system or by direct bank transfer.

Question - Is there a cleaning fee?

Answer - We do not charge a cleaning fee unless the cottage is left in a extremely dirty state.

We loved being able to walk to get coffee every morning , there is shopping , supermarket, takeaways and my favourite were the health concoius cafes. The property itself suited our needs needs perfectly, thanks to the great hosts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My whole family enjoyed the stay (from Melbourne) Hi Jude, thank you for such a wonderful place to stay. Location is great and communication was excellent. The quality of the house was also great and perfectly fitting for my family requirements. We arrived at 5:30am but could still check in ok.. perfect! I certainly wouldn't hesitate to stay again :) We are back in Melbourne now, full of memories.
