Access is by water only so catch the ferry and enjoy the beauty of all the local beaches as you make your way to mackerel or hop on a water taxi and be in paradise in a few minutes.
Fully equipped kitchen with multiple places to entertain , on a large outdoor balcony or under the trees and night sky. Furnished for comfort and relaxation . Home made cookies and a bottle of local mackerel wine will great you as well as a fully stocked pantry that will ensure you have all the basics for a gourmet meal.
Bikes and Beach toys available, books and DVDs all centred around a beach holiday filled with friends, sunshine and laughter.
Two bedrooms one with King bed and the other with a double bed and a bunk. Outdoor BBQ and an endless front yard for children to play and explore.
We have also provided two tents in the backyard that can sleep at least 4 children , the house is very comfortable for 6 people please let us know if you are expecting more guest to stay and we will advise options.
Pets welcome and bowls provided for thirsty dogs. They can run leash free on beach before 9am and after 5:30pm at the northern end of the Beach
The only transport here is by foot or by bike. There are no cars here which makes it perfect for children of all ages , hours of fun can be had with wheelbarrows , climbing trees , swimming , walking and exploring.
The Shack is 280 meters from the beach and a three wheel barrow id provided for transporting all your holiday goodies. A buggy can be provided by special request for those not so able.
Wake up with the wallabies roaming around the garden or watch the goannas scale the trees.
Palm beach is only a ferry ride away with beautiful cafes or Avalon for a wander around boutique shops.
This is the perfect beach escape , close to Sydney but miles away from the pace and noise., a beach shack that requires no shoes and will be a place that you make beautiful memories and return time after time.
Getting to Mackerel:
Mackerel is only accessible by water i.e. by ferry, water taxi or private boat, there are no cars allowed at Mackerel Beach.
Drivers will need to park at the Palm Beach Wharf carpark on Barrenjoey road. Buses run to Palm Beach regularly.
Then take the quick trip on the Ferry or Water taxi from Palm Beach Ferry Wharf across to Mackerel Beach. Check ferry timetables at the Palm Beach Ferry website.
We do not normally take more than 6 guest without prior discussion and strictly no parties as we love our community and want to keep it safe and quite.
Dogs are welcome and allowed just on a leash for the wildlife.Water is tank so very precious so please use it wisely. The shower in the back yard is bore water and very refreshing :)
There are no shops at all on Mackerel Beach so you bring your own food and drink. We supply all the basics - the details are supplied when a booking is made.
